Well you can't really compare it to Roger's mother passing away. What was she? 70? 80? So it's not like it was a shock, or she went out too young. And Tracy's had something like this happen every single year of his NBA life. Besides, I think Tracy will play.
everybody deals with grief differently. There is no one right way. Maybe his wife is really having trouble and he needs to support her.
get paid $10 mil to play 82 games/year....forgive me, but taking 2 games off because your fiancee's mother died is unacceptable.
it is his fiancee's mother. it is his fiancee's mother. it is his fiancee's mother. sorry if i sound unsympathetic....but i am.
Wait a minute, since when did money become the end all be all for one's happiness. So if you make more money, you have less of a right to feel upset or to grieve or to care for your family. Making 10 million dollars means that your number one priority is not your family but instead is your basketball team. So when a player like Roger Clemens plays through his mother's death, we shower him with praise because we actually acknowledge the fact that none of us could do that. I sure as hell am not going to work if a close relative of mine passes away. But when a player does take a day off, we insult them and call them out. He's doing what the average person would have done. Money doesn't change anything. Besides, why the hell do you care? Les Alexander is paying his salary. It's almost selfish of you to say that he should play through this just so you can see the rockets win. What disturbs me even more is the fact that you tie this to money. That somehow money excuses one from the right to grieve. I realize most of us can't even dream of having anything close to what T-Mac makes, but don't forget that he is a person like the rest of us. We watch basketball players on TV and we mythologize about them so much that many times we forget that they share the same DNA as us and are humans. Thankfully, Rocketfat isn't in charge of American labor regulations. If you get a high income, watch out because you don't deserve any basic benefits because you get lots of the green stuff.
Close game, but we pull it out in the end. I expect it to be very similar to the warriors game. Rox 94- Magic 87
dont misconstrue what i'm saying. i didnt intend to simplify if by saying he gets paid alot, so he cant grieve. i can assure you i dont believe that. i dont feel like arguing, i just refuse to find it acceptable that he misses 2 games for his fiancee's mother's death. sorry.
Matt Bullard just reported on the pregame show that he saw Tracy enter the arena and he is expected to play.
I'm just wondering - am I the only one who thinks Ric Renner may have learned how to do what he does by studying early Jim Carrey movies like Ace Ventura and The Mask? The guy annoys the hell out of me with his bad haircut and dumb fake voice.
As far as i CAN REMEMBER, i don't think T-MAC PLAYED IN ORLANDO last year.....DIS YEAR.....HE IS PLAYING....THEY just reported he's in the LINEUP
T-Mac played in Orlando last year. I was there and I was one of about 5 people in the whole arena who was cheering for T-Mac and the Rockets. Everybody else was booing
i don't see the magic being very tough today. the francis trade basically said "we are planing for the future." i think they are in tank mode. even if they wanted to win this one against us. who do they go to for points? this one we have to win off talent alone.
