I disagree. I'd say, Yao is our best bet to box out Howard. Yao is very conscientious at boxing out, and putting a big body on Howard is a must to keep him off the offensive boards. And Howard's offensive game is still raw, so I wouldn't expect him to get Yao in foul trouble.

He will be lucky if he has a chance to step on the court. No love for Darko in NBA.

It's a defensive strategy to have one man try to beat you, while shutting down the rest of the team. If that one man isn't an elite player such as Kobe, T-Mac, Duncan, Garnett, etc., the strategy works pretty well. Let them have one bright spot, it's not like Darko could carry that team anywhere anyways. But if that bright spot it Dwight Howard, this could be a problem. I'm just guessing that he'll be one of our major defensive focus points, forcing the other team to beat us on the perimeter (like we've played all season). I don't think Orlando has the firepower to beat us like that, we'll just have to see.

Our strategy is clog up the middle, don't let them get much inside, and make them beat us from the outside. Hopefully this will make Dwight Howard almost a non-factor, while at the same time, letting a scrub, or someone with a decent shot, light us up. Like I said, as long as that person isn't able to carry the team on their own, we're OK.

Dwight may be a bit too quick for Yao to keep up with. He is gonna move around a lot. Hayes is quite strong and heavy himself.

A little off-topic. But does this mean we will most likely lose to Suns? We all know they have so much fire power on the perimeter. Samething with Dallas.

Did you watch the last game we played against them?

I'd say yes; it's fair to say that under normal circumstances, we will most likely lose to the Suns.

I know...I was hoping someone would say Rockets will figure out a way to adjust to Suns. :(

Yeah, but, in the long run, a team that relies so heavily on outside shooting can NOT be a championship team, shooting alone is too inconsistent. However, they are a very good perimeter team and a very good move-the-ball around team. There is a reason they didn't make it to the Finals last year.

We have to change our gameplan to beat teams like the Suns, which are very few in number, ever.

Dallas? I'm sure we could beat Dallas. They have a lot of perimiter firepower, but their style of play is much, much, much slower than Phoenix's, so it's easier for us to cover them.

EDIT: to beat the Suns, we have to force them into our style of play, that's how we've beaten them before. We're not going to beat the Suns at their style of play, it's too fast for our team.

This will be a tougher game than people think especially if T-Mac doesn't play, the Magic have been rejuvenated with this new lineup.

Well is he or isn't he playing? Pretty simple, if he is in Orlando he's playing.

Okay at this point it's do or die.

Tmac cannot afford to miss anymore games period.

Hate to sound like a jackass but he did miss the Warriors game and had an extra day off on Saturday; This is PROFESSIONAL basketball, he's getting paid too much to let the team and the fans down with his emotional problems.

Seriously, I'll be pissed if Tmac decided to skip another game. Or did Tmac gave up on Rox making the playoffs already? For all I know Yao and the rest of the team haven't.

I actually agree with you. Besides, it was his mother-in-law that died. Naturally you'd be sad, but missing 3 days because of it?? Roger pitched the day AFTER HIS mom passed away. Maybe it has something to do with the mental toughness.
