too many Iso 1-on-1s.... if we are still going to play like that during regular season... I can see John Wall becoming our starting PG next season

We needed these replacement refs whenever Yao was getting hammered in the paint.

Pretty good game.. we're only down by 7 with the way we started... reminds me of the C's game from Wed. night. Not that it matters, but I think we can still take this game in the 2nd half if we play smart.

We're delaying the inevitable by starting Brooks over Lowry.

Lowry is too damn good at too many things. He brings so much to the table. Brooks does exactly one thing better than him.

God no, that would mean they would have him with 6 fouls before hes played 10 minutes.

This is the first preseason rockets game I've watched, and from what I've seen Taylor is a chucker, his shot selection makes me cringe.

Agree. But we need exactly that one thing, which Brooks does better than Lowry - his scoring ability (and 3s), this season.

If Yao and T-Mac is healthy... I can see Lowry starting over Brooks as a ball distributor (and the occasional slasher) and Brooks coming off the bench to give us the needed spark with the 2nd lineup.

Lowry was punking Jameer Nelson at both ends.

I, like you, do not like his shot selection but on the other hand...new players especially rookies (and a scorer like Taylor) need shots and making those shots before they get comfortable and play within the system (start looking for open teammates)...

Let's give Taylor more time... I believe he has the ability to find open teammates off his drives (JF from Chron noted that in one of his articles as well).. He has the tools... all he needs is the veteran mentality and awareness.

1st half analysis (my first pre-season game I've watched)

    Positive:
Overall aggresiveness, defense and shot selection

    - Taylor: looked solid on d, made a couple of shots, too much 1-on-1 but that will change I think since he seemed willing to pass. He really looks like Wafer under control with more strength and much better defense. This guy looks like a nice prospect for the future, maybe even this year behind Ariza
    - Lowry: he is definetly making a case for a starter, because Brooks was again running around not creating anything and Kyle is fearless. Good defense and great body control
    - Budinger: played good team defense, was rotating a couple of times so they couldn't get a 3pt shot off and looks solid on offense

    Negative:
Too much 1-on-1, no ball movement, not enough cutting

    - Brooks: didn't create anything and made only 1 solid move towards the basket but that's probably just this game although I think Lowry deserves a shot as a starter

    - Ariza: forces it way too much, looks lost out there and cannot handle the ball and is definetly not a go-to guy. If the Rockets want to get close at making the playoffs, this guy better deliver

    - PFs - Mensah-Bonsuh, Dorsey & Hayes: no offense whatsoever, fouls, fouls, fouls and might as well play 4 on 5

The refereeing is bad and both teams are getting bad calls so let's hope for the best in the 2nd half. I'm glad Yao is not in the game, he would foul it in a minute the way they are calling it now.

Here is a link to myp2p..

there are a few channels from which you can choose from if you don't like the link that others have posted...

Most of them require specific software which you can download from myp2p.

    Rep points are appreciated :D

What's funny is Budinger didn't even deflect the pass. The guy fumbled it while trying to pass and it ended up in Budinger's lap.
