Conroy was also solid vs Celtics. He should play more minutes during pre-season.

Anderson needs to box out better and set stationary picks

Conroy's only shot of making this team is for a serious injury to befall Brooks or Lowry. And even then, he would probably get dealt in a deal a few weeks later on.

I have sort of warmed up to Pops but he hasn't proven anything over Joey D. and if it came down to a decision between the two, I'd take the younger Dorsey.

I hope in order to be rid of Cook, we don't have to lose a draft pick like we did to get rid of him. But then again, we do have two second rounders this upcoming off season right?

They are. Anyone that tells you a healthy McGrady or Yao, aren't worth more then Brooks or Scola (actually a case can be made for Scola) is high on something.

let's calm down guys. lebron sucked badly and was called a bust after his first 2-3 preseason games.

budinger is doing well. adelman will do what is best for chase. ultimately, chase will play a big role in our chase for a playoff spot htis year

No we don't. Our (protected) 2010 2nd round pick was traded to Minny in the Kirk Snyder for Gerald Green deal. We have zero second rounder come next summer.

    1. He's an expiring contract.

    2. He's still a top 10 rebounder and a top 10 shotblocker in the NBA. He played 60 some odd games last year. I think he would be a perfect fit for 20-25 mpg and would re-signable for relatively cheap to back up Yao next year.

    3. He would fit Adelman's offense with his 17 foot jumper and high post offense opening up the lane for Brooks and company.

    4. If we could get him for say, Landry and expiring contracts, it would create a roster spot for a guy like Conroy who can play and who could really develop into a legit backup point. This would make either Lowry or Brooks possible tradable in a bigger trade for a superstar at the deadline..........perhaps Chris Bosh, or Amare, or Gilbert Arenas.

was reading a recap of tonight's game and thought this was AMAZing insight on the rockets:

"Houston got 59 points from its four backcourt players, but not much from anyone else. The Rockets rested most of their key players, including Luis Scola, Tracy McGrady, Shane Battier and Brent Barry"

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2009100919

Brent found the fountain of youth and is going to own LBJ in the dunk contest

lol nice find, props to you.

It gets me every time when those BSPN/Yahoo writers who knew close to nothing at basketball FAIL. Seriously, pick a profession that you are at least familiar with.

Speaking of Gilbert Arenas... How about trading for Andray Blatche? Decent Size, Young, Athletic, good scorer, has range, and rebounds well....

I didn't watch until the 2nd Quarter began so I didn't see any t-mac related updates.

But I can tell you he's doing fine based on the combination of Chron's articles and the short clip that was shown last game (don't know if you have seen it or not, if not you can download the highlights of the previous game from Rockets2K's thread).

He seems to be able to run and jump on his surgically repaired knee without pain/problem) and, oh, he can dunk now. I guess it's just a matter of conditioning (whether he could run intensively, taking contacts without damaging anything again, sustain the tolls of the demanding back-to-back NBA games) and how comfortable Morey and the staff are letting T-Mac play before he can play.

He also traveled with the team to Orlando, even tho some say he's just doing it so he could catch a free plane back to his hometown :D

Well a member was saying that Chase is the best player on the team so far. I, then, asked him/her what about Brooks/Lowry/Scola? Finally, someone stepped in and mentioned Yao and T-Mac :)

They said he looks great. Said he had an awesome workout that morning and expect to see him soon.
They estimated a return in about 3 weeks possibly.

the more i see the rockets play the more im confident they will sneak into the playoffs, i mean they are playing well without starters l.scola, s.battier, tmac, once they start playing and the rotation is set, there is reason to be optimistic
oh yeah and this is my first post of many to come ;)

First of all, welcome to the forum. I, myself, is pretty new, too :) even though I had been following clutchfans for more than 3 years.

I do, too, share the same feeling with you but, honestly, I'd rather the team get a high draft pick this season instead of sneaking into the playoffs only to have our dreams shattered....

But that's just me though... plus I am really high on this John Wall kid.... also Favors... they can be some special players for the years to come...

That's great news. Thanks for informing. Hopefully he can come back and be effective and a good teammate (looking for open teammates, not jacking up wild shots, actually run the offence off-the-ball, and not giving up on his team etc.) at the same time.

I was at the game!!!!! it was really awesome!!

we were down early in the 1st but we came back and made a game out of it.

It was funny seeing Scola and Battier sitting in the stands..idk if u guys saw that on the tv...t-mac was on the bench with the team..

Im really impressed with Chase, he seems like he will be the first guy off the bench once the season begins....as for Jermaine, he still has a lot of learning to do but he was pretty solid in what i saw from it. David Anderson i was curious to see after what he did against boston and he was pretty good also. Conroy came in at the end and looked pretty good even though it was only for a short time. Other than that, Ariza is struggling with his shot...but like one of the threads that was started, he will get better when T-mac gets back. He is not a one on one player but right now it looks like he is trying too much.

Brooks looks good so far, so does lowry...Pops was looking good too..he seems pretty aggressive

I have to say...I really can't believe this glaring problem: we're a team thats supposed to be based on passing and ball movement above all else this upcoming season and yet we have NO ONE (apart from Kyle probably) thats got even near above-average court vision and passing skills thats gonna make this work at all.....not even our starting PG...Will Conroy might be our best passer on this roster right now

I sense a whole lotta turnovers with forced passes and movements of the ball...
