    What is up this season?
The Rockets and especially T-Mac suck at freethrows.
McGrady cant afford to miss so much FT

Howard is going to be about as close as we will get to having the 'next Shaq' when he fully develops.

He's starting to mentally mature and become a 'demanding' player.

Yao will have some competition for the 'Best Center' honors in a couple of years, if not sooner.

On a sidenote, the starting unit isn't very good shooting-wise, so it's about time to bring in a shooter or two off the bench.

Because neither of the superstarts is superagressive by nature

I have the same observation. Not just this game.
This team looks much better with a small fast lineup.

Yao and T-Mac have looked subpar so far this pre-season. I know T-Mac was dominant his first game or two, but his FT misses are a bit concerning. On the other hand, Yao is getting routinely outboxed/outhustled around the basket and looks more like the Yao of the first half of last season (the 19/9 Yao) and looks out of shape.

Oh, well, it's just preseason, but I hope these two guys 'get in shape' (both physically and mentally) by November 1.

Not a rant, just a small concern, although I hate to read too much into the preseason...

On a sidenote, is there a young team in the league with more 'upside' than this Magic team? Nelson and Howard will be two really, really good players in the league for years and years to come. The best thing they could've done was trade away all their big contracts into young, cheap talented players to allow them to develop.

Oh yeah, I am also forgetting Milicic, who will be a very good player in this league, no doubt in my mind.

howard is 1 for 4 from the field so far buddy....dude cant shoot. I would pick Yao in a heatbeat over howard. howard is not a reliable first option and unless Oden's injury messes up his career...oden will be FAR better than howard

I never seen him miss so many free throws. With Orlando he might have a bad night from the free throw line, but then he would have perfect games the next 3 nights. He'll be ok once the season starts.
