As each game passes, more people hop on the Jalen Green isn't a star train.

At what point does the bust label get applied?

At what point does the franchise determine they won't even offer him an extension?

It's one game and I'm trying not to overreact.

But those questions must be asked later this season if he doesn't improve drastically.

If you showed me tonight side by side his very first NBA game ever, and told me to pick which was which. I would not be able to.

So basically nothing carried over from the pre-season huh? No resistance on defense, no boxing out, no quick decision making, 3pt defense, off the ball movement? This was literally one of the most incensed I've been watching a game, my god this was brutal. If we're going to get bullied by freaking Cole Anthony and everyone that has a bit of muscle, then we're in for a looooooong ass season.

Jabari might have bulked up a bit, but he will never be strong enough to handle opposing PFs. Jalen Green, I really fear for that frame with his style of play and skinny legs, because he's an injury waiting to happen the way he falls down. He's way too reliant on his athleticism. Jalen Green's ball handling for a guard really is poor, he palms the ball a lot, and just looses it due to his own ability to hold onto it. It was almost as bad as Amen Thompson. We have some terrible ball handling and passing on this team overall. Not one guy I trust aside from FVV & Tate.

The very, very few positives:
- FVV & Brooks will bring it
- Sengun's shot is fine
- Jeff Green
- Jae Sean freaking TATE!

And this is not knee jerk, but Amen Thompson will struggle heavily, Green won't be an All-Star type guy this year, Jabari if he keeps being bullied, not box out and do that weird stance of his before and during his drives and pull ups then he will not be even close to a force this year.

 

Let's not go crazy here....Sengun had no blocks and no steals...he was not a defensive world beater. Now, what he did do was hit 6 of 11 shots and had 6 assists for 14 pts...not 24 or 34 but 14pts. He did well but let's not go crazy. And let me assure you that Anthony drove halfway into the lane and had no trouble getting his shot off. Oh yeah...Wagner and Paolo only hit their shots over Jabari. The entire...and I mean entire defense stunk tonight. Jabari had a poor game but he was far from being alone.

You can lose by 14 on the road, no problem, but 30 is unacceptable.....it is just a minor catastrophe.

 

You can see how Dallas had to adjust their offense due to Wembanyama. Him just standing there in the middle affected their flow.

Man, Houston better be ready to play pissed off and outhustle San Antonio for everything, or it's going to be a looong game.

 

I agree...30 pts. is ridiculous. You will see a different team on Friday I believe.

What we have to understand is that we are too small upfront....IN THE NBA, THAT'S MAJOR!

It showed last night, Jabari is too thin and Sengun, although he played well, is too small.

Also, Jalen Green is too inefficient/streaky. Need to play Cam more.

Im not worried about Amen, his game will come around. Loved how FVV and Brooks played.

Lmao.... and Fred Van Vleet is not too small? And Jalen is not too thin?

And Brooks is just a fatter 6'6 guy.

Van Vleet looked like a school kid standing next to Cole Anthony a student.

 

I’m blaming Ime for this loss.
He did not have the squad ready to come out the gate. They came out very flat, even the vets.

so wait a minute, we cut it down to single digits (like 1 pt right) in the 3rd? and STILL lost by 30? Christ.

 

Outside of Franz Wagner, I do think their 2nd and 3rd stringers played much better.

I would have invested 80 million into bench depth rather than FVV and DB.
