Yeah never a J-Lin fan but Ish Smith is just horrendous. He does the chicken with his head cut off thing way worse.

 

For the people complaining about Ish Smith getting too long a leash, do you realize that this is preseason? If Ish is getting 35mpg in the regular season, then this comparison would matter.

Reading the box scores, surprised Papa got 5 assists. Curious if he actually did some playmaking or were those assists just normal passes.

Daniels and Terry could be lethal 6th men duo off the bench.

Daniels better get consistent minutes every night. Why not use the detroit pistons offense and set plays ALL THE TIME for Daniels like they used to always do with RIP Hamilton?!

 

I concur. Adrien has done more in this league than Black and Dorsey together.

 

No worries. All 3 if them will play. Plenty of minutes once Morey dumps DMo and Jones for 2nd round picks.

I swear ish was never this bad. I think this team just stands still and waits for plays to magically happen.

 

What you see is the difference in coaching. I swear a lot of people don't think coaching matters but it really does. It's the system. You learn your players strengths and you play a style that fits them. Bad coaches try to force their players into a system that doesn't fit. They all look as if they lack direction. It's basically give the ball to Harden or Howard and let them create. That is literally all our offense is.

 

Just so I'm getting this right, the Rockets have the best preseason record in the west, have rested Dwight over half the games, and given James rest and minimal time, have an awful bench, that has basically run over every other teams bench, and they're still endlessly b****ing about McHale?

Those are perfectionists on the interwebs but I doubt they are perfectionists at every detail at home

 

As a first time poster and VCU fan following Daniel's career all I can say is VCU has had a similar high octane fast break offense with very few set plays, but at least they still used screens around the baseline and in the paint to get Daniels and other shooters catch and shoot opportunities.

I don't disagree with McHale's plan of not using set plays and relying on a flowing offense and chemistry to attack the basket, but going iso is the opposite of playing as a team and building chemistry. That's why Houston's offense stagnates when the other teams start making shots and eliminate fast breaks.
