He's barely played except late in the game. Hard to score from the bench.

In the 6 games Canaan has played, here are his approximate per 36 numbers.

26.9pts, 5.3ast, 2.3TO on 44/36/74 shooting. If he's playing against 3rd stringers, then he's putting up the kind of numbers you'd hope to see.

 

I like Beverley as well. Kind of reminds me of Rafer Alston (another parallel to the Tmac/Yao era). Not the best offensive game, but good D and very important to this team.

And I am eager to see what Morey does at the deadline, he should be able to turn that Pellies pick into someone helpful.

 

I feel like Ish Smith's leash is three times longer than JLin's leash (and I'm not a Jeremy fan at all). I respect coach decision but damm IDK what they see on this kid game. The chemistry of Cannan with his teammates is way superior plus he spaces the floor. I hope the chose Cannan over Smith but again I trust the staff decision.

LOL, Preseason. Please don't make me defend McHale, he's bad but again it's preseason. Just incase some of you guys preseason games don't count and they are used to experiment with different lineups.

 

I don't understand why Morey give money so easy to some guys like Ish.
He had signed Reggie Williams last year

I agree with you. Also I'm not sure about Beverly as the starting PG on this team. Don't get me wrong. I love Beverly and what he brings to the team, toughness and defense. But he becomes basically useless without Harden/Howard on the floor offensively and sometimes looks like Ish running around like a chicken with his head cut off. He's not a very good playmaker or run the team very well. As you can see the ball is in Harden's hands most of time. He is, however, a great backup that can change the energy of the game. Black looks ok, but is too small in my opinion. Has great hustle though. I would rather see him as an emergency PF/C bc of injury than a rotational backup C. I think Terry still has a little juice left in terms of shooting. But his shooting is worthless if he can't get open because the team is too dumb or not coached to set screens or sometimes multiple screens for him to get open. This goes for Daniels as well. They should look at tapes from the Celtics and Heat and how Ray Allen got his shots.

 

Not sure what you mean by that. I feel like Lin had a much longer leash. You won't see Ish playing at the end of many games, that's for sure.

 

So far in the preseason, Ish has 14 assists... and 15 Turnovers. Brutal

 

Lin averaged 30 mpg. I doubt that Ish would get even 20.

 

ish smith is a liability. Cant drive, cant finish, and cant shoot. why dont we just play 4 on 5 and make everything difficult for our team.

 

This is what some poster posted on my rep page at precisely 7 pm tonight in regards to my posts defending Canaan as the better point guard than Ish. Would anyone want to confess they did it? LOL
