I'm surprised there is not a Brooks appreciation thread going right now. Brooks was absolutely the difference maker in that 4th quarter. From driving and drawing the defense to good setups to Yao, to scoring on the drive a couple times, to blocking a shot, to finding Rafer on the perimeter, this guy made it happen. If you only watched this game through one time, you might have missed it but watch the game again if you dvred it and check out how Brooks impacted this game in the 4th. Bonzi almost gave it away but Brooks (with some credit to Alston) pulled this one out for us. Brooks and Alston can really facilitate this offense. Great win!
Seems like they rewrote the article. But I also noticed this "Orlando was outrebounded 44-36, helping account for 16 Houston second-chance points to the Magic's five. Orlando has beat only one team over .500 at home this season, though it was the powerhouse Celtics." Wow, no wonder their record is so good. Fools gold.
Luck would not have helped us in the 4th quarter against GS. We needed to play better. Luck had nothing to do with that game.
Undoubtedly, Tmac is very very talented, with 13pts in 37 seconds ... ... he is one best game closer, another one is Kobe. But when he scored 62pts, he lost the game, while Kobe won the game by scoring 81 pts.Tmac took 56 shots only got 62pts. If you check the list of his high scores, you will know why Magic sent him to Houston. he took 37 shots not 52.great win by the rockets .
come on now dont lie like that, he didnt take 56 shots, thats like almost impossible, if u have teammates. i remember that game he missed 11 freethrows, but he didnt take 56 shots from the field
Is that a rhetorical question? He did it all the time. He would put Chuck in for defense then Yao back in for offense.
the video evidence points to it being a good call by the refs, though it's impossible to tell for sure. i don't feel like we took anything from them though. brooks is the man, and he'll only get better as his shot starts to fall.
this is a game i think i will remember for a long long time, because of 2 things. 1, the last call was really close. i thought it went in for sure when i saw it live. now i've watched it so many times in slow motion, i want to say it should not count; but i can only say this with 90% confidence. can't remember when was the last time i saw plays like this. 2, is that offensive foul called on yao. as many times as i've seen yao receive bad calls (or non-calls), this one has to top all the rest - it actually made me laugh.
Brooks really needs more minutes. How many people would have taken him out completely after the first half that he had? Instead Adelman shows some trust in him and he really stepped up on both ends of the court.
The Magic lodged a complaint against the last second tip but hopefully they don't over look the horrendous calls against our team. Lewis is so tall and when he takes jump shots his legs look like the Eiffel tower, looks strange to me.
I think Brooks is beginning to make Rafer and Head both look much better when he plays with them. The team ball movement is much better. Luther stands around less.
A few foul of yao is incorrect. the last ball, even if magic do it right, should give it back to rocket. besides, howard has aready fouled out. if there is a ot,I will bet rocket win finally!
The tip-in looked good to me; looks like it left his fingertips by .1 THe refs must've had an appointment to get to - game over; who says the refs don't love the Rockets!... There is the love... Nice win anyways, all things considered.
exactly my point.. I'm guessing not many ppl here on this board will argue that JVG knows his defense. If hes subbing Yao out in the last moment, then obviously he too considers Yao a liability (or not as strong as our other options)
