That was still HORRIBLE execution in the 4thQ. They allowed several wide open 3s and layups and were hesitant as usual on the offensive end.
That first one would have made it a 4 point game anyways, and we still would have won by 2, I think that is how the refs saw it.
Btw, did anyone notice Dwight Howard pushing people out of the way for rebounds? I counted 3 obvious pushes and there were no calls. I guess he knows no one wants to call the 6th foul on him for a loose ball foul.
i never knew the day would come when rafer would finish near the basket so frequently. i can't believe it. He's really showin me something ... almost makin me a believer ... believer in what? I uno. Good game tonight. Once again we have obvious mental breakdowns, but we scraped by just enough. There's still a little hope in this team. We gotta make our push going into the all star break and continue from there.
We need to do a better job closing out the game! Man, that last ball was so close. If it were tipped by Howard, I guess the game would go to the OT. We deserved a win tonight, though.
That makes me realize how fortunate we were that Howard was not in on that last play. He likely would have changed the outcome even if the last play was executed differently.
The 4th quarter defensive collapses that we have are extremely concerning. Teams are going to make runs and take advantages of mismatches and athleticism but we just don't show the ability to regroup and try to make it harder for our opponents.
I don't think so. Yao clogged the lane quite well this year, which stops the penetration effectively, and in situations like that even blind refs won't call tic tac fouls. Plus Yao's still the best guy to box out opponents for offensive rebounds. Chuck should be there too. Just take Bonzi out. By watching games this year, I just felt everytime Yao was taken out in this situation opponents scored on a layup with almost no time left.
Thats the same thing I was thinking we have a REAL easy schedule coming up its time for us to make a run.
http://media.putfile.com/Yao-gets-another-Bogus-call--Refs-Racist-plain-and-simple Whoever said Head shouldn't pass to Yao and calling people YOF for that should watch this again. It could potentially be T Prince blocking Reggie Miller had Yao not being there.
Isiah didn't really mean that, he couldnt have. He has two rings so he know what it takes to win so he should know that NY don't have what it takes to win. If he did mean it then he is the dumbest person in the WORLD.
One thing every must have noticed is Rafer played much more aggressive than he played with Tmac in the latest games. Put aside the fact he's putting up his shooting percentage, he actually throws himself to the basket and made tons of layups and floaters. People have been blaming him for not taking the ball to interior last season, which may be caused by JVG's strategy. Now we've really seen the big change Rick put on him. I hope he could keep it up throughout the season even after Tmac is back. He would be no doubt the best point guard option for us.
He has always had that ability. He is excellent at finishing on both sides of the rim with either hand while shielding away bigger players. He used to do it regularly in Miami and Toronto. In Rafer's case, it is not an issue with being injury-prone or a lack of sufficient quickness. He is in great physical condition for his age. I have to imagine it is the result of years of playing for JVG where Yao and T-Mac had to be the focal point of every offensive possession. Adelman's style of play should get more out of Alston with all the player and ball movement. On the other hand, Adelman's style of play has revealed more of Head's and Battier's weaknesses. Rafer is an above average 3-point shooter for a PG and can finish at the rim when he has the freedom to make those kinds of plays. Finishing at the rim excludes floaters and teardrops. I am talking about Tony Parker/Devin Harris type of finishing at the rim. It is the shots in between the 3-point line and those strong finishes where Rafer struggles, offensively. I am talking about mid-range jumpers, teardrops, floaters, etc... Rafer instantly becomes a better PG if he regains his ability to finish around the basket. It is only a matter of having a coach that allows him to do that more often.
Thanks for the link. I think Rockets should collect all the bad calls against Yao/Rockets, put them on a DVD and play it on Toyota Center over head big screen before every game.
