Mass/volume... He had no chance to block Head because he was screened off by Yao, as a good big man should, and did, do. Luther scored quite easily if you recall, or go back and watch again, either way. That is most likely the first time anyone in the history of the game has ever been called for doing what Yao did. There was nothing wrong with Head's decision in this case (other cases, sure...his basketball IQ is to the left side of 100) and nobody would even mention it had Yao not been called for that ridiculous foul. Nobody would have even noticed it for anything other than an easy fast-break layup. Yet somehow, people think Head did something wrong since Yao got whistled. Bizarre.
