I think the Rockets should change their name to the Charlotte Bobcats for a couple weeks. Maybe one week. They'd probably sweep the Lakers.

    We'll be ok.

What I'm worried the most against the Lakers is lazy passes being intercepted and turned into easy bucks.

Points off turnovers could be our demise.

If we are focused on offense and don't make lazy passes we will be in the game.

Unfortunately, I looked in my crystal ball and saw tons of errant turnovers which resulted in fast break 3's for the Lakers.

I forsee the Lakers going on tons of 8-0 or 12-2 runs in 3 minutes of play, while we'll struggle to score 2 points in 5 minutes.

we ALWAYS hit a wall in the middle of the 3rd quarter. our offense just stops for about 7 minutes, mostly because the other team picks up their defense and we don't have enough scorers on the team.

the stats don't lie. you can't just throw out regular season stats. they tell everything there is about this series.

you can't compare the bulls because they played a different style in the playoffs.

these Rockets are still the same team that lost to the Mavericks in the final game of the regular season. we still have ron artest, who you know is going to play his own game with kobe and shoot terrible shots.

it doesnt look bright for the rockets. i will consider ita n accomplishment if we win 2 games.

Bearing in mind we won 4 of six games, and that we were in every game, those stats tell me that our game strategy was excellent.

jzmagic the Lakers series will be completely different. I look for Yao, Artest, Brooks, Wafer and Landry to put up better than normal offensive numbers and I also expect Scola to struggle.

What will be "disturbing" about that is we're probably going to get completely blown out in a couple of games. At least you won't be "disturbed" by our offensive stats.

    you cannot be more WRONG.

Lakers will win because they have better and deeper talent. Their best player is a cold-blooded assassin, while Rox's best player is a gentle giant.

ps. This year's Cleveland's Cavs, as compared w the Rox, have better and deeper talent, and their best player has closing ability and mentality.

Honestly, if Kobe takes 20+ shots, we have a great shot of winning this game. This first game is a statement though to a lot of people.

    - It's a statement to the city of Los Angeles and it's fans

    - It's a statement to the players on the Lakers (even though they did say they won't take us lightly)

    - It's a statement to all those sportswriters/analysts that picked the Lakers to easily win in 4 or 5.

    - It's a statement to basically anyone who thought this is going to be an easy series for the Lakers

We basically take the pressure off of ourselves if we win this first game, I mean, I'm not saying we should lose game 2 if we win game 1, but we really put ourselves in a good position to keep ourselves in this series. Game 1 is really the most important game of the series. A couple of interesting stats:

Phil Jackson is 42-0 in winning a series when his teams win game 1.

No team has ever beat a team in a series that they have been down 0-3 or higher against in the regular season series in NBA history, a perfect 25-0 for the team the team that's been 3-0, 3-1, or 4-0.

Just thought I'd throw those two stats out there, not to discourage anyone, but to show what we're dealing with. Go Rockets!

I do also, if it is true... If Yao really said that, he's emerging into a dominant center now.

Are these scars/bleeding photoshopped? Or is this the real deal?

If so, dude, Yao should get bonus free throws for taking all this punishment. Like a depository for fouls.

    That's not funny...

Besides, winning against a team when they are healthy or at full strength makes it more significant.
