Dead? NAH! He would be 116 signing 10-day contracts to fill in as a backup for the Rocket's starting center: Yakeem Minajuwon.

I am just curious about if there is any statistical camparison of shooting percentage when a team leads or behind.

I've just kind of felt that Tmac and our guards shoot a little better when Rockets are leading. Confidence or not too worry about missing might play a hugh role.

You spot the key. This team live and die with those things.

man that was really bad...look at what a win does to us, we get all stupid lol

I admit, when the team loses, I cant handle it sometimes, I just avoid any mention of Rockets or basketball in general. I get too into these games sometimes, my dad still b****es at me from breaking my remote control when that little white guy in the gay shorts hit a certain shot against us in the late 90's playoffs

Come on, Yao played pretty well except 3rd quarter, when he was clearly out of gas and moved very slow. His 4th quarter points were not garbage points. Lakers were still within striking distance.

Dekembe looked like he was 38 when he played for Georgetown.

Amazingly, he still looks like he's 38 these days.

Everyone keeps talking about Mutombo and how great he played and I agree but the guy I thought and think is critical to the Rockets success is scott padgett. With Juwan down for the season he is so vital b/c while he is undersized, if he can nail the three and hustle this team has an outside shot of doing something in the playoffs. Also Padgett lacks the physical abilities to be an outstanding player but his basketball IQ is very high. He seems to always do the right things in the game, whether it be make a good pass or cut right, all the little things that make a good team great scott helps bring to the Rockets. If he can play at a high level.......we have a shot still.

Words to live by as an NBA player:

"As a player, you get better in the summer, not in the season" - Reggie Miller

I think when people b**** a bit about the possibility of Yao going to play in China over the summer, THIS is the reason why, because as Reggie said (and Kenny confirmed) players get better and improve in teh summer, not by playing during the season.

Just wanted to make this point since it came up in the broadcast.

BTW, Charles and Kenny were mentioning the "places" where b-ball players gather to play in big cities, famous places. And they mentioend some place in Houston, but I didn't catch its name, does anyone know which one they said?

Also, that Yao movie will be great, man, I can't wait to watch it, it will be hilarious:D Barkley saw a segment in it where the bet the Chuksta placed and lost and then kissed "Kenny's ass" is shown, Barkley was laughing about that, and said about Yao: "He is a great kid...He is a great kid, he really is"

That would be the Fonde Rec Center. It's off of Memorial Drive near downtown. It's where Hakeem learned everything he knows playing with Moses Malone IN THE SUMMER. Hint, Hint, Yao.

Great game. Deke, Padgett, and James really gave a HUGE boost off the bench tonight.

Good to see our shooting come back. Our defense has been suspect lately and the Lakers did get a lot of open looks tonight.

Yao did a good job when we needed the extra push in the 4th quarter and had a good 1st half but he was all at sea against the fronting done by Grant and he wasn't even pushing him around much. His failure to hold position was very concerning. In the 3rd quarter there were times when he was staying out of the paint even when he had a chance to get inside.
I feel very sorry for him he desperately needs to stay in Houston in the offseason instead of going back home. He is very tired because of nonstop basketball.
Deke had a great game and our shooting was good but our perimeter defense and against the pick and roll was very bad.
    I'm relieved that we won.

Yao's contribution is essential to Rockets' success.

Yao has exceed my expectation playing not 100%, but every single games he still go hard and play with such determination, fighting, scraping, pushed down, got up and keep on going.

Mentally he has that toughness just as TMac and other guys have, the games are tough to win now because we're all banged up and running out of gas.

The only thing that disappoints me right now is that Jon Barry has been out a few games and still doesn't have his own thread.

Juwon has one. Bob Sura has one. David Wesley has one. Yao has 283, 434, 234 of them. T-Mac has a few. Jeff Van Gundy has one. Braggs has one. Vin Baker has one. Even Patrick Ewing has one! Jon Barry must feel left out.

which game you watched? after KOBE fire up a 3 pts, they still got a chance to win and they getting hot, yao step up and secure the game, this is garbage time? DEKE was out of gas and our lead cut down to 6 and JVG put YAO in, right?

YAO score 12 pts in the early first half and ROX had 12pts lead, and this is very important to V

    Totally agree.

Yao was battling hard last night with injuries all over his body and played huge in both end of the game to secure the win. I can't understand why some people would still get so upset and even started to trash him in stead giving him the well deserved credit.

Stop b****ing and hating. Give some love to you team when they are in trouble but fighting hard.
