How many minutes has Yao played in the fourth quarter?

 

I'll single someone out...Jeff Van Gundy.

How about setting up Mobley some after he hit 13 in the first quarter? Actually, how about calling a play for anyone besides Yao or Mo, who both couldn't do anything against 2 of the greatest big men of all time.

Van Gundy does not know how to run an offense. He was a defensive assistant coach in NY, and now he's a glorified head coach because he knows how to teach defense so well. The Rockets had better find an assistant who knows how to run an offense, or we will never get back to the finals with this crew.

I know we had some bad breaks in this game, but we should've been in this game. Inexcusable. Embarrassing way to end the season after 4 great games.

 

hey i got to say this this been a great full season of rockets moments i ejoy them i think now that we should start to built the franchise again because we don't have the players with pasion (this can change the next season with this playoff ) but i don't see this happend maybe trade,draft,sing players will be the solution


IMO we don't need to spend to much money to put big game players in this team we are'nt a LA CLIP we are the ROCKETS to fill the need of us the FANS

let's go and see the future and built a team for at least 10 years from next year

i think we need to ship two guys fro one or three for two or four to three to make a major impact

Yao does not have the energy, ability, and confidence to dominate againest Lakers right now. Period. Give him a couple of more seasons to see how he progresses.

 

It was a good season & this team has made a lot of progress since last year. I am VERY excited about next year. go ROCKETS!

 

Just a few comments.

1) Yao is absolutely horrible. He fulfilled every criticism of his game tonight. This is a really disappointing and I hope it isn't a reflection on his character. The saddest thing is that he won't have a chance to fix it in Game 6.

2) The refs reverted to their standard LA play calling and killed whatever aggressiveness the Rockets brought. Too many ticky-tack fouls took the Rockets out of their defense... hence the complete collapse in the 3rd quarter. No one has the confidence to contest a shot for fear of fouling out.

3) Our assist and turnover problems are possibly worse tonight than any game this season. The LA assist/turnover ration is 2:1, and the Rockets is 1:2. Nuff said.

4) After being abused physically in Game 4, the Rockets show up for Game 5 and help the Lakers off the floor rather than step on them. I was initially concerned the emotions would run too high tonight, and that would benefit LA, but the Rockets are instead submissive to a degree that sickens me. For god sakes! Malone tried to kill Boki in Game 4! Have a little self respect! Malone got the last word, and that doesn't work for me.

Because you dumbass, this is a ROCKETS website and we root for the Rox. If you wanna get analytical about it, goto ESPN and post in the main NBA board. Save yoru elitist I-know-basketball sh*t for later. Now is not the time

 

To be honest, we have to admit that the lakers are a team better assembled than the rockets. They have dominance both in the low post and the perimeter. Also they pass better than the rockets. With Cobe, Shaq, and Malone on that team, it is not easy to beat them. I predict a tough series between the lakers and spurs.

This game was like every Rox game, start strong falter and sputter down the stretch. Sigh, I expected us to lose, but 9 pts in the 3rd an elimination game?????

 

Thats great to know, noone really cares. We're fans of the Rox, go post this crap somewhere else.

 

Please don't speak for everyone here.

99% of the people in here are Rox fan and want them to succeed. However, it is painfully obvious that this team played horrible in the 2nd half and looked imcompentent and disinterested. Those are the fact and ignoring them doesn't make it go away.

 

The rockets cannot soly rely on Yao's dominance to win over the lakers, because they have Shaq. The Rcokets have to have players to balance out Cobe and Malone. The lakers just love to see the rockets go to Yao every possession, since Shaq will cancel him out.

 

Noone's ignoring them, go read the other threads, I'm b****ing just like everyone else. I don't got the time right now to be talking about how much better the Lakers are than us.

This series is infuriating to me because we handed them two games, and played them close every game except the third quarter of game 2 and the second half tonight. Then those cocky sons of b****es GP and Karla will act like it was nothing.

Rockets are not ready for playoff games yet...need more work.
