its more the poor decision making that's getting me. the team is falling apart right now with piss poor drives to the basket and turnovers.
Right... cause either of them were going to shut Kobe down. Hell, when was Kobe getting shut down this game that you thought they were playing good defense? He scored 19 effortless points in the first half, and he got on fire in the second half with both guys attempting to guard him. And "comfort zone?" The guy is averaging 35 points per game for the SEASON... when is the guy not in a comfort zone?
easiest way to beat this Rockets team. 1. don't double team Yao in the first half and let everyone else try to beat you 2. as long as #1 don't burn you badly (i.e trailing by, say, 53-52) at halftime, you're ok because 3. double team Yao in the 2nd half and force everyone to beat you this not only cancels out what Yao basically did in the 1st half by clamping down on him in the 2nd, but it pretty much exposes the ball-less role players that the Rockets have (sans Frahm). And for the love of God, can anyone get Keith Bogans to do lay up drills?
No one ever said anything about stopping him. You basically get him away from his "comfort zone of just throwing anything up and it going in. JVG getting owned by Phil. Yet again. Nothing new. And Phil does it sitting on his sidelines, while JVG is dancing around.
Once they start to double Yao and force our role players to beat them in the 2nd half... well, we can't since they suck... -G'day-
It wasn't the double teams, they didn't start hard core doubling yao. Its the poor decisions the backcourt has been making. The Lakers put a little ball pressure on, and then the guards go crazy and don't set up the offense and get Yao the ball. Its stupid pg play.
