Truly pathetic. JVG couldnt even get his team to score enough points down the stretch to make sure that Laker Fans do not get free Tacos. Is this what it has come to?!?! Inability to stop Tacos?!?!
I'm glad that Yao fought till the end. Swift tried to give him some support but the rest were disappointing.
The Rockets had a good 1st half. Bill Walton was a b!tch that ripped the confidence out of JVG's fragile heart. Phil Jackson may send out his summer coaching course outline and fees schedule to JVG.
The reason we lost this game is, apparently, Yao didn't not shoot the ball as many as kobe. Both of them were on fire. Yao only took 8 shots in the second half.
JVG sucks. he has no adjustment during any games. What he can do is pre-game planning. This time, even the pre-game planning is bad. Why put head on Kobe? that is just stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
As I was reduced to watching statistics I did notice that many times when Yao Ming got a rebound or a steal he was passing to others, this was very inefective he needs to be more selfish. I did also notice that towards the end Alston assisted Yao Ming twice. This is good and a step in the right direction but Alston is still looking for far too many shots for himself as opposed to being the playmaker.
The reason why we lost is because the rest of the team can't shoot at all. If you take away Yao's 16 for 25, the rest of the team short 21 for 60. That's 35%. True, our defense also stunk but if your other players are shooting 35% when Yao is double teamed, how can you win?
Well, this is my second post on this BBS Wish I can get rid of the rookie label soon Just looked up the box score, our starters (except Yao) are 12/41 from the field, that's 29%. While the fakers starters (except Kobe) are 17/30 (57%). I guess we are just a miserable team.
Actually the reason why we lost is cause Kobe went crazy in the beginning of the second half. The lack of shots by Yao was mainly due to the defensive adjustments by the Zen Master.
But if Yao is double teamed, and you're playing 4 on 3 -- how can you shoot 35%???? Surely NBA players should be able to shoot at least 50% when that happens.
The rockets backcourt is small. They really didn't have anyone with T-Mac and Wesley out. They could put bogans on kobe but then they must put head on odom, an even worse matchup. I thought yesterday that Kobe would own, and I was right. Yao wasn't enough today.
LOL, I watched the game. At the end, the chant turned to "WE WANT TACOS! WE WANT TACOS!" Rockets should have scored another basket at the end just to piss off the lakers fans.
Well, they weren't really doubling him as much as tightening the space between him and the help defender. And to be fair to JVG, no one was stopping Kobe during that run.
