Why are the Lakers getting so many uncontested 3-pt shots?

Yao has hit the wall big time... whatever shot they gave him before the game wore off at halftime.

Tough loss to take. The Lakers do have some very good outside shooters in Rush and Fisher. Luke can shoot it, so can Kobe.

We played so well in the first half. Well, hope we can win one or two when they play us in Houston.

To take Shaq out of the game is a kind of victory no matter what.

That goes to show you that height doesn't mean everything. Its the most important in rebounds in which sometimes is a hindrance in Yao's case because he doesn't have that vertical leap to catch the ball or he has to bend down and look to see on the ground where the ball is at the same time. Malone has 18 years of playoffs and 2 years NBA Finals and on top of that he plays on one knee in these situations. Yao on the other hand, he hasn't even been in the playoffs for 18 hours or two days yet, so he's yet to learn how these playoff situations are like. Height doesn't mean everything.

    Triple double for Stevie.

He's come to play in the playoffs at least.

I gotta say that Francis did his job well today... triple double was a bonus. Had Yao matched the energy level that the Lakers used in the second half, this would have been more of a competitive game..

Bad loss, and probably a death knell for the Rox in the series. I wonder how the vocal anti-Francis contingent will spin this. SF3 played his ass off tonight.

Wassabi, the Rockest crumbled under the pressure and their defense in the critical few mintues that they were down by 10 had dissappeared. The Rockets and JVG are lying on the mat and the referee is at 8.

    *Sigh*

The role players are what really hurt us...can't leave Walton, Fisher, and Rush open like that. I'd rather have Kobe taking a fadeaway, even if he is hitting it. Free throw shooting hurt us, but I don't think that was really the difference.

Shaq is proving that Yao cannot beat him. Van Gundy has to recognize that and realize that Shaq has the advantage. Stop throwing the ball to him when he is missing...you would do the same if anyone else were missing that many shots. I do love what Steve has done in both games.

The turning point is that Cat's foul at the end of third QT, we cut the lead to 7, instead it back to 10.

    Tough, tough loss.

Why doesn't JVG give it up and rest our players for Game 3?

Man, Shaq is on the way to have his lowest career point total ever. 7 points in the whole game as his second lowest was the 97' series with the Jazz. Shaq hasn't done much in this series and they're still going up 2-0. Lakers have some clutch role players. Off to bed.

Maybe... but still, we would have been down 7 at least, and the Lakers had already grabbed the momentum by that point.

I feel the turning point was that ridiculous Kobe 3 point play... after that timeout, the Lakers just seemed to play with much much more energy than Houston.

This is not a great Lakers team. Both games could have been won. I have a feeling the Rockets will win the next two at home by a large margin and we'll have a whole new series on our hands
    next week.

The Lakers did what they had to do, they took care of business at home.

Now its the Rockets turn to take advantage of their homecourt.

Because game 3 is on FRIDAY... three days off are an eternity. Plus, you always go down swinging on the road. You never give in.
