I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but has everyone noticed who has been bringing the ball up the court?

    Jim Jackson

Steve has still been runing the offense in the half court sets but Jackson has been bringing the ball up the court and then getting it to Francis past the half court line.

Also the Rockets only have 3 turnovers in the entire first half. Who the hell spiked the Rockets water and what did you spike it with.

    Team ball is so sweet.

6 of Shaq's points came when Yao was on the bench.

The good thing is that Taylor is the only one with 3 fouls. JVG was smart to pull Yao off of Shaq after his second foul as well as sitting Cato after his second. We will definitely need both of those guys to stay out of foul trouble as long as possible

The public heavily bet against the Rockets this game. The under was also heavily bet too. This is a big game, and it takes a lot to move the numbers. I hope the public loses big this game.

JJ is playing his best game of the season so far. I really like the play where he gets the ball from Yao in the corner for a jumper or a drive down the baseline.

I like the Yao pick and roll. The Laker don't know who they should defend, our guard or Yao because Yao can hit those 18-ft shots like a banker. This is the first game I saw more drop back to Yao for the pick. As a result, the guards got wide open as the Laker defenders have to be honest.

On the defensive end, Yao should concentrate on Shaq only. He tended to help out his teammates so many times. At least three times, I saw him leave Shaq and cover Kobe. Got burnt by Shaq once.

But I am amazed at Yao's energy in this game. He is everywhere at both ends. So is Francis. Did you see both of them have come from way behind to get the offensive rebounds over several Lakers and jammed it home?

    :)

I really think that Jackson bringing the ball up the court has helped with the turnovers. Steve is already across the half court line with out having to deal with the pressure of getting the ball up the court. Jackson wastes no time at all getting the ball across the 8 second line.

Pick and rolls are working great.

Was that half-time interview with Bare Bryant enough to make you gag? Poor babeee. What a martyr!

Earlier (best retort of the day):

Al Michaels: "Yeah, Kobe has scored only four points, but he can get hot in a hurry."
Brother-in-Law: "Yeah, ask that girl in Colorado."

Yao can hit that jumper. I just hope Van Gundy keeps milking that cow till it runs dry.

I think Yao leaving Shaq in the second quarter was by design. The Rockets are trying to keep him out of foul trouble. He very clearly backed off and did not challange a few shots he could have because he looked like he was trying to avoid the foul. Alton Ford and MoT both guarded Shaq when they were on the floor with Yao in the second quarter as well while Yao guarded Grant.

Man my head is starting to spin. 4 hours of sleep was not enough. But so far I am happy I woke up for this game.

One thing I think everyone on this board can agree on is that there's no reason to complain about Francis, Yao, our forwards, or even Moochie for that matter. One thing I'm worred about though is they haven't gone zone on us yet. I hope we've learned how to play around that and tear it apart if they throw the zone at us. :D

As was mentioned earlier, it's interesting listening to Steve during the game. He has some sort of Mic on or something. He told Yao to demand the ball more, he can take Shaq down low. He pep talks Yao a lot after a good play.

I like hearing such things. :D

I hope the Rockets don't stray from the offense that got them the lead. Pick and roll with an occasional iso from the guards or low post from Yao. Van Gundy yanked Piat quickly this game. I hope he gets it together in the 2nd half.
