Gary Payton is playing against Steve. Shaq is playing against Yao. Kobe is playing against Cuttino. I don't know how the Rockets win by individual play. It'll take a miracle to pull this game out.

This game represents a real opportunity for our key players to make a "statement." Preferably, Yao, but it would nice to see SF begin to play well within the new system and quit turning the ball over 4-6 times a game...double dribble, dribble off the foot, drive headlong into 3-4 defenders, dumb passes. Much less concerned about Cat, who, despite a lousy shooting game on Tuesday, is playing very well within the JVG system at both ends of the court.

For Rox to improve, our best players must lead. Not much to lose and a lot to gain. Given our recent play, am pessimistic that we'll see anything more than uglyball on offense. 75-80 points won't cut it against high flying Lakers.

    Hope I'm wrong ;)

ABC is asked for it. They knew the Lakers were stacked with talent with Malone and Payton coming to the team. They put them up against the Rockets at the Staples Center. If the game was going to be played in the Toyota Center, they wouldn't be able to get a glimpse of movie stars sitting in the crowd. This game has blowout written all over it.

    We might win, who knows...
However doesn't matter how pessimistic the fans, we need high spirit in the locker room to even have a shot at this game.

All I know is that the rockets offense needs to play better on transition...their style of play lately is soooooo horrible to watch. Hoping that this game tonight will be a break out game for them to build on. Just my wish for today!! :D

This is the best game for Yao to be shooting jumpers. Get Shaq out of the lane, so Steve and Cuttino can drive for buckets. Yao just needs to play good, solid defense and not even waste energy down on the low post. Raise his arms when Shaq goes for a shot.

Steve should be giving Gary the jumpshot. There's no need to have the whole interior defense compromised by Gary driving the lane and dishing. Cuttino just needs to use all his energy guarding Kobe.

Zone up JJ and Cato? Force Devean George and Medvedenko to beat the Rockets?

Well there aren't any loudmouths televising the game so atleast this game should be bearable to listen to. As far as watching it that maybe be a whole other issue. I only hope Tom Tolbert keeps his mouth shut during halftime and doesn't blow anything out of proportion.

Good start so far. I hope they don't go zone on us. Not likely since they'll probably go to it and find it effect against us in some part of the game. Yao 6 points, 1 block, and 1 foul drawn on Shaq already. They're spacing seems to be much better as well.

Team looks good so far. Those plays with Yao setting picks for Steve and Cuttino are great.

Like what I'm seeing from Yao so far. Stroking it from the perimeter, a nice offensive rebound and dunk. Atta boy!

C'mon Rox, a win would be my Christmas gift! :)

Why are the Rockets going away from the pick and roll with Yao setting picks and Steve and Cuttino firing away?

Yeah stick with what's working. Don't go away from it. In any case, I got my margaritas ready to make me happy if we blow it anyways. :D

That was very effective. Same as Yao's touches both ends. I don't know why they went away from that. That's always a reason for stupid Rocket BB. But a good start in general.
