I watched the last 2 and a half minutes of the game. And I saw the recaps.

Very nice. Yao and Mutombo out. Unfortunate. But good win.

I still like Swift. Even though he's dumb, he's athletic..a good backup..and I think he can improve gradually or maybe drastically.

    Tmac very nice finish lol.

Meanwhile, Finley and PJ Brown altercation! And Darrell Armstrong saying, "How about the Redskins?" and getting fined. :p

You are ridiculous. How many games in a year you can win throught a 39.4%, 70+ performance?
Rockets won not because their stellar performance but the TERRIBLE performance of the Lakers. We can just lucky to win this one out. This is an outlier.
If you anticipate we win another game with less than 80 points in the near future, you must have something wrong in your mind. Too bad even Rockets got 76 today, it happened to be the best shooting night for our guards this season.
Tell you the truth, Rockets are a two-man team. With either of them out, Rockets suck big time.

Mac and Shaq would have been unbeatable, period, mainly 'cause they're actually friends, and McGrady is a better passer. The championships would have been never ending.

But whoever a few posts back wrote that Mac is more clutch than Kobe is just wrong - sure Kobe has had more opportunities to do it on a bigger stage, but he did, and you can't take that away from him. Mac is up there in clutch, but not in quite the same situations as Kobe.

I know, people here just don't get it. Stro may one day be a very good player, but right now he's still a high-energy bench guy with ridiculous holes in his game.

I really thought that he was showing signs of coming around, but how can anyone explain him getting zero rbs tonight... In a game with Yao out (and Deke getting injured late) and he can't get more than 20 minutes?

I do complain about JVG, but I completely understand why Stro isn't on the floor more. It's hard to believe there are so many here that despise JH and are still not skewering Swift.

    a good point lol

I mean what is it with Stro? Not enough size to play the PF? (in terms of weight)

It's pathetic when a 58 year old man outrebounds you everytime.

True, we all know he can jump through the roof, but that doesn't mean **** if you can't get 5-10 rebounds a game to help your team.

People should appreciate Wesley a little more. With Tmac in foul trouble and Bowen ineffective, it was Wesley who held Kobe in check late in the game, even he gives up 5 inches to Kobe. And it was him playing good defense on Smush Parker's last shot.

KOBE looks clutch only because their oponents put all of their focus on BIG SHAQ!

KOBE hasn't proved his clutch on his own power at all!!!!!!

NO DOUBT, TMAC is the most clutch player in the world now!!!

I think Wesley's the best player tonight actually.
T-Mac 's last shoot was amazing, but 20 seconds before that, he committed a TO , which resulted in Brown's dunk. So this cancel out each other. If none of these happens, the result would be the same.

There were some people here that were expecting a strong, tough, enforcer personality from Swift. I guess they just saw a few highlight reel dunks and blocks and assumed that he was gonna be an Otis Thorpe type player.

Honestly, Swift has always been soft....extremely athletic, but soft nonetheless. Even his old teammates in Memphis though he was soft while he was still on the team. He's only 6'9" and 230 lbs. That's 20-30 lbs lighter than the typical western conference PF.

He's even smaller than Kenyon Martin, and nowhere near as tough. We all saw what happened to KMart after he moved west. He's getting eaten alive by the elite power forwards. It's foolish to think Swift would fare better. I still think he can develop into a solid player and a good fit for the team. However, the way some people were raving about him on this board when we first got him, you'd think he'd be a perennial all-star or something. :p

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought.

I thought he could at least grab maybe 6-7 boards a game though and couple that with about 10 points, but I was mistaken apparently lol

I am with you on this. May be Wesley’s best game so far this season. His defense on Kobe is very solid. Somehow, Kobe just can’t turn and shot when Wesley is guarding him. Wesley’s 3 pt shooting looks very smooth in the 3rd qt. Hope he can keep it up. We really need him to play solid for the next 5 games because all the injuries.

By the way, I give Biil Warell all the credit for Wesley's play. Bill should ask Wesley to sit with him every game. :D

very nice win, we absolutley stole that one with a depleted squad and low fg% shooting, but good teams pull wins like this out. we need wesley and howard to play like this every game. Not saying we need wesley to hit 3 pointers every game, but hit his open looks.

anyone else notice that our big run in the 3rd quarter, started right after Bowen went to the bench :D

I think Lakers playing ugly was because of our defense. We've been having trouble defending outside shooting teams. Seems with Yao out, our game speed is increased. It's good against teams relying on parameter shooting.

As for Yao, it's a good opportunity for him to learn from TMAC on how to lead the team into victory. Although he didn't put on good numbers tonight as he normally does, the WIN tells more than anything else.

I'm sorry. Even though I'm a big rox fans, but there's no doubt that Kobe is better than Tmac.
And talk about last shot, there's no doubt that most people will pick Kobe to shoot it.

Good post wireonfire. Wesley can contribute, but I think JVG's asked too much of him since he's been here - he should not play 38 minutes a game - and he was so broken down late last year.

Speaking of defense, did anyone see Mooch on Kobe for those three straight plays very late in the 4th? I was cringing, and Kobe passed back out twice. Incredible.

Good, ugly win but man do we need to get healthy.

How is kobe better? kobes defense is greatly overrrated. he had shaq behind him hence he could take alot more risks on defense. on offense, a fit tracy, is a more explosive scorer. some people need to stop paying so much unwarranted attention to his hype. pop who is the best coach in the league, admited there is noone primeter better then tracy. bruce bowen, also stated tracy is the toughest cover he has faced.
