I don't get it. Last year when Isiah Canaan was playing well, they traded him after a few games. The rockets would greatly appreciate an Isiah Cannan over Lawson this season. Now, they will do the same thing to Thornton and we will regret it once again!

For a few games yes. They never committed to the idea. Did they even make it 11 games trying it? They should have just rode it out IMO.

It's going to suck when Lawson goes to another team and starts to look like himself more.

Lawson has had plenty of chances they even tried moving him on the bench so that Harden would be on the bench when he plays and Lawson just drives into traffic and gets blocked or dribbles to get open and refuses to shoot or just stands there. It's on him. We really have to stop making excuses for these guys. No the coaching staff hasn't been excellent but neither have the players.

how many games should we waste? 11? You understand that in the beginning of the season before the disillusionment we expected to be one of the favourites for the title right?
You wanted us with such expectations to drop 11 games at the least down the toilet in a gamble that may fail in the end?

I predicted this with Lawson. I said the team would be mediocre unless he plays a bigger role. I'm not blaming anyone, I'm just saying you can't expect there to be chemistry in 11 games and then throw it all away. Any team that adds a big player has chemistry issues, but if you aren't willing to even work through them then this is what happens.

I said then, I really don't care how long we are going to waste. You want to be a contender? Well as this roster stands right now, that's not happening unless Lawson plays up to form. Period. So you do whatever you can to make that happen. The whole point of getting him was to contend, you give up on him then you have given up on the season unless you have another big trade down the pipes which will again affect chemistry.

It doesn't matter why we got him if he is not playing right. There is no conspiracy he's not playing well.

Guys, I don't know what game/season you've been watching but Lawson has been on fire (on Nba 2k)!!! Lol, I don't have nba 2k, but it makes me feel better knowing there's a chance still it could work somewhere/time, right???? Lol, Lawson has had enough opportunities, I mean keep trying him out on bench (maybe work back up) but his contributions since he can't play defense make him a liability if he isn't putting the ball through the cylinder.... Or getting awesome assists... (ok not all his fault on that, but it's not like our team can shoot). It's looking more and more like another sg/pg would make more sense, especially offball one since harden loves iso (that's great when it works). And it needs to be someone who can defend, I mean harden is our PG pretty much and that's not changing unless jb has some more coaching up his sleeve.

The problem is not normal chemistry issues. It was like Lawson showed up and lost his mojo, he can't even do anything from the bench either. Like chemistry is one thing when players are in wrong spots and missing passes (or learning a system and each other), but ****ing Lawson can't even put the ******* ball in the hoop, it's like his off the court issues have handicapped him, if he was a first/second year player he'd be D-League or gone.

For example on chemistry look at cavs reload or heat or hell Drexler coming in as older player and still putting the ball in the hoop (sure there were chemistry issues, but players didn't come in and suddenly forget that the ball needs to go in the hoop not around it. you could have Lawson play 35+ mins and he might not make a basket (and that's on him not chemistry, I'm talking 0-5 to 15 or whatever it is, his per and other advanced stats are so bad I don't know how he'll even be in the NBA eventually unless it changes)......... He was known for offense, and it's not like he's a two way lock down defender..... If he isn't making points he's more of a liability on the court, hell houston already has harden who likes shooting more than defending his man.

However, I do agree if Lawson doesn't work and he's not that 2nd playmaker they need, then they need to make changes or they need to magically fix his mojo, because currently he might have trouble on their D-League too. And without him playing at high level and in a providing role... The current roster isn't going anywhere. But again I mean it's definitely more than chemistry, you can look at just about any other peaking/star player and they'll still be able to make probably close to their average points, he's not even in the same ballpark, I mean roughly half performance for 36 mins.... Free throws and fg% lower.... Lol, ok fts have nothing to do with chemistry.... I mean unless you think that a secret handshake is going to help. ;)

'Rode it out' wouldn't have worked here. Because Lawson would be the same useless player he has been for the first 20 odd games.

No amount of playing time is going to change that when we don't have a coaching staff who can draw up offensive plays and get our offense moving.

I'd actually love Lawson to ride the pine and never see court time if all he's contributing is dribbling the ball up the court and passing it off, and faking wide open shots to just end up passing to someone else.

The Lawson experiment has been, and will always be a failure in Houston until a competent head coach is in charge.

EDIT: although I may understand where Ty is coming from. Before a semi-final I had several years ago, my cousin from England flew out to Australia and we were having a fair few drinks with him before my game. I was well on my way to being heavily intoxicated by the time game time rolled around. To this day - still one of the best games I've ever played.

    I don't understand it either.

Think of it this way though- it might be better for him to get off this sinking ship.
