I actually made the game. I was about 20 rows back from the Houston bench and all I have to say was that I am really PROUD of this team tonight. I don't know where all the negativity is coming from but there is A LOT to be hopeful for. And it all starts with YAO. In fact, for most of the game, the Laker fans around me were saying what you would expect from Yao-Haters, but by the end of the game, all I can hear is that HE'S A BEAST and asking themselves how they can get their hands on him. It kinda reminded me of Rocky 4 when he was fighting the Russian guy, and at the end of their bout, all the Russian Fans started cheering for Rocky.

These last 3 games were ALL WINNABLE and in fact should've been in fact WINS so WE ARE NOT THAT HORRIBLE. Some of these posters are acting like our team is a D-League rejec but in fact were only a shot here or a rebound there from being on a 3 game winning streak. Mark my words, this team will be WAY different at the end of the season compared to today. I envision a healthy McGrady (don't forget Snyder), an in-shape Bonzi, and an even more DOMINANT YAO at the end of the season. So regardless of our wins and losses, as long as we are healthy at the end of the season, then we will make some SERIOUS noise in the playoffs. Games like tonight are great lessons to be learned for Yao. Case in point, without this loss, he probably wouldn't have complained about the officiating. He is slowly coming out of his shell.

By the way, this was my 2nd time watching Yao live in person, and I gotta admit, I am in awe of the dude. I can't even imagine how much better he will become when he actually gets into his prime. And remember, Yao's prime will be MUCH longer than most centers because Yao's games is not predicated on athleticism but on skill - like Kareem's. And Kareem played really dominant until his late 30's.

this post makes me feel good after back-to-back depressing games. i'd like to see more energy like this leak into the forum. i know it's early and our record is still decent but i deperately want us competing for the division, and t-mac being out is hurting. i love the guy but i don't want to ask what if especially with how wide open the nba looks. this season is ours if we want it.

LET IT BE, LOOKING BAD IS MORE WORTH THAN REPLYING TO WHAT U SAY, AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS THE TRUTH.

Sometimes it it real tough to be a Yao Ming's fan.

When you look at these photos, you feel like remembering him shouting, cheering and raving support for his scrub team mates of the Chinese national team at the Olympics or the World Championship, urging them to step up, fight like men, and to win those games........ and every time they failed him !!

We have changed our players except Yao and it may be the time to try for another coach. Anyway, replacing the coach is easier and costs less.

Things will get worse before getting better.

I won't be surprised if Rockets went on a 5-game losing streak.

    :(

I agree. JVG is a good coach but not great. He cannot lead the rockets to finals. there is nothing after every timeout in the overtime. No one helps yao? I think that coach's fault.

jvg may be a good coach, but he is not the right coach for this team. he's sucking the fun out of basketball with horrible play-calling, poor substitutions, and incredibly uninspirational leadership. where's rudy :(

good point. Every year phil Jackson can give people some surprise for some player. It never happens to JVG. All I want is he can use the bench more wisely. I think we have a much better situation.
it takes five to win the game. You can not solely rely on the offend of your superstar to win in and out. I still don't see we have a third option(other than T mac and Yao).

wat happen to the technicals for just arguing wit the ref??

WHEN THE LAKERS were down in the first half, EVERY whistle KOBE would argue with the refs and never ONCE RECEIVED A TECHNICAL??

and even SMOOSH when he took off his headband to argue....that should have been an automatic TECHNICAL ALSO, but they only call it when HEAD hits the ball out of bounds!!!

every anal yst says yao can carry his team like a kobe can. if yao got all the foul calls from actual fouls recieved, he would have an assortment of 50 point games also.

Much props to the rockets. I know we lost but from all the articles i read from rockets side and lakers side i think the rockets played a good game ( didnt see the game cause they dont air overhere ). Yao doing his thing and the rest of the team playing hard. They could have won today, yesterday and before, so with that in mind and t-mac out, bonzi not in shape, snyder out and a couple of months left for the other players to grow its gonna be all good.
I'm not worried this is a learning process and the team will be ready to kill the competition in april may june.

ps too bad luther misunderstood and fouled on the ''fire'' call ( he needed to double, see article from chron ).

STOP the hate support the ROCKETS, that means from players to the cleaning man everybody rockets involved!!!!!!!
