He had been doin' that for a whole game. And what's the stupidest:

If they call a foul on him he was unhappy, he blamed the refs everytime, but when our defender didn't even touch him and the refs still called a foul it was ok. I think he should get at least two technicals.

I'm certainly no fan of the rapist Kobe Bryant, but he may have had a legitimate grievance on being fouled by Rafer Alston after he (KB) grabbed that last rebound. I need to check the recording to determine whether time had expired. Rafer could have cost us the game on that bit of stupidity because Bryant had no time to get off a shot.

Rafer got all ball, and Kobe certainly had time to get off another shot. It was actually a very good defensive play.

This game was exciting. Kobe really did a good job in making troubles for the rockets. And I like the competition in the final minutes. At that moment, it's like a playoff game.

My analysis is that the Refs still suck.

They fall for Kobe flailing all over the place and whining like a little baby !

That game should never have been that close, Kobe should get offensive fouls called for his bull in a china shop drives.

Yao still got screwed on several calls were he went straight up, and can someone explain to me how Scola gets a foul called on him when he is blocking out and the guy goes over his back to tip the ball.

    Maddening....

    On the positive side:

We won and it was nice to see both Tmac and Yao play big minutes and not look tired at the end.

I think this is going to work out, and better to learn while you win...right?

Rafer may have won us the game by knocking the ball away. Rafer had some major flaws yesterday but let's be reasonable.

Last year I thought that Gundy had some sort of weird thing for Rafer... We have plenty of gaurds... hopefully Adelman won't play Rafer that many minutes again. I'd rather see the over-dribbling ball-hogging mike james play 30 minutes.

I hate Rafer teardrops. does rafer even look at the stats? Somebody make a huge sign with the teardrop stats and take it to a home game.

props to Chuck Hayes. He gets the golden trash can trophy- 8 boards in 26 min.

s.Cola is cold. hopefully he warms up after a few games.

I can't believe I was even somewhat interested in Kobe for tmac. my apologies.

james and bonzi were great off the bench. Wow. it feel nice to comment about our bench.

it's game one rox fans. In a few months we'll have this machine well oiled and running smooth.

Let's see if we can win 16 in a row and break the old record.
out of curiosity, how do you guys / girls think we compare to the '93 / '94 Rockets?

I think individually this team is more talented, but not even close as far as team chemistry goes.

It is far too early to tell right now......but if this team gets it together they are serious championship contenders.

It is just going to take a while for people to find their roles.

If Luke Walton hadn't scored 2 points for us...we coulda been in real trouble. Did you guys realize that?

rafer had a clutch 3, got the ball into yao in the final minutes, and poked the ball out of kobe's rebound to seal the game. on top of that he kept the offense pushing and had 8 assists.

so he did a tear drop. but didnt he just do one of them?

    rafer doesnt deserve this, IMO.

I agree. Rafer had a few mistakes but nothing to bench him for.

He did have 4 turnovers, 2 big ones late.....

He played OK, the Rockets could still use an upgrade at the PG position.

Like I said, he doesn't deserve to be benched but you're def right about an upgrade. But honestly this offense doesn't really need a great point guard. We just need to be sharper with our passes as a whole. I liked how we got out on the break.

I think we ought to suit up Landry based on the fact that our guys got a lot of fouls whistled on them last night. Yao ended with 5 and Scola had 3 in only 8 min. Battier played pretty well at PF but that lineup probly won't hold up against better teams than the Lakers.

The so called overloaded talent at point consists of:

Rafer "Can't Play a Lick of Offense When It Counts and Is Way Too Weak to Play Defense" Alston

Mike "Watch Me Dribble and Chuck" James

Steve "My Best Days are Behind Me but Watch Me Pout" Francis
