Rafer made ONE field goal in the entire game.

    That ain't good enough.

What else do you still care other than that Tmac didn't get the ball enough?

For a guy who is supposed to be in there for his ball-handling, Rafer looked terrible in the 4th quarter. Happens time after time.

PG is definantly an area of concer for this team as Alston, James, and Head haven't proven they caneffectivelt run the offense .

with greater talent comes greater responsibility and expectations. these grades are based on expectations. Tmac didn't shoot very well at first and had some pretty key turnovers towards the end of the game. Yao seemed to just coast and didn't dominate like he needs to. James single handedly brought us back into the game in the first quarter.

Our defense was ok for most of the night. Had we not turned over in the last 90 seconds, we would have kept the Lakers in the 80s. Actually I think our D was more than ok, protected the paint and no easy basket. Now, they need to working on grabbing missed FT. Boy, it almost cost us the game. Were we lucky or not, that rafer slap was not called.

yup yao is fresh as hell this yr. he played 41 mins and no signs of fatigue as u saw in those 2 "should have been" daggers late in the 4th.

he's gonna have a great yr. better than last yr statistically. yao should have fouled kobe hard once when he got to the hole just so kobe actually felt a foul

Wow what a great game. Here are my thoughts on the game.

McGrady played a great game tonight hitting 30pts 10-20 FG(10-12 FT) and played like an MVP. Did terrible in the first quarter though

Yao Ming had an all around great game with 25pts an 12 rebounds. Another MVP type of performance.

Rafer didn't exactly had a good game. Not exactly a bad game. He only made 1 shot(a big one though) but didn't take many shots. He made some dumb mistakes at the end but I can't complain about the 7 rebs and 8 assists. I like him as the starter

Mike James missed 4 FTs including 2 big ones in the 4th quarter but he made his shots early in the game and was huge spark off the bench

Shane Battier played good defense on Kobe. Did miss some open 3's but made the clutch 3 at the end with a smart foul too. Love his hustle

Chuck Hayes was a hustling machine. I love him but he sucks at free throws

I like Bonzi Wells off the bench because he adds another scoring dimension for us

I expected a bigger game from Scola but he's still adjusting

Overall I feel very good about this team

Yao not dominant enough? Without Yao, Lakers would have scored more than 100 points tonight. How many shots Yao blocked or altered? How many times he scared Lakers player away from under the basket? On offense, Yao could have easily score more than 30 points if he gets touches in the low post too,but apparently it was not the game plan.

I still think Yao should be in the low post more. At least they need to give him the ball when he's in the low post, this did not happen very consistently today. He did hit two buckets late in the 4th when he got the ball in good position to score.

McGrady ended up finding his shot, but getting stripped by Walton was not cool.

Why? Just because he was the Rocket closest to the ball at that time?

yao missed alot of shots early, alot of really good looks too. he also had 4 turnovers and was even blocked once. B- is a good grade, it's above average for what I expected

how you gonna let that 12 pt lead drop like that?

other than that i am pretty happy.

yao/tmac played well individually, team did build a lead, playing a new style. the D was still there, offense stagnated a little but it was cool. few more weapons (bonzi/james) is nice...

i like what i saw cept something still seems too passive about the team. Yao for sure had some authoritative moves though and tmac threw it down twice this game...i think thats as many as he had last season combined. :p

good stuff. keep it going keep it growing.

The new offense and the deep bench was advertised to lessen the work load of Yao and Tmac, and keep them fresh for the playoff. But I saw them play heavier minutes than last season tonight.

yao played great. i don't know what you are talking about. when he was in the high post (outside of his first 2 jumpers) he looked to pass and opened up the space. when he was down low, he did his thing. he rebounded. he defended pretty good.

tmac, yao, james, bonzi, battier were the only ones who showed up
