IMHO the last minute collapse was all mental, we thought we already won the game...In the end we should go to Yao (he played 40 minutes but it doesn't look tired, with some high-post plays he can be less tired in he end), T-Mac was always doubled hard in the 4th.

p.s.: Great dunks from Yao and T-Mac in the 3rd quarter!!!

i guess when tmac is not handling the ball in the 4th, we're gonna have problems. need to either get it to mike james or bring steve in. he'll dribble out the clock but who cares

That 3rd quarter was really something. Yao slammed it on the laker bigs, blocks a shot at the other end, and Tmac slams it home on a drop pass from Alston.

Is it just me, or did Rafer make some uncharacteristic bad decisions on a couple of fast breaks? I recall one where he had an open layup with Kobe between him and Battier, and Rafer dropped it off to Battier. Battier got the layup but Kobe was in the picture defensively. And the drop off pass to Tmac was a little off. Tmac had to change direction a little to get it.

Yeah but in crunch time the ball should go to Yao for a quick 2 or FT.

again, adelman said he would try to reduce the double teams. he didn't use screens for tmac off the ball like he should or do something so tmac can get the ball. no reasons for those turnovers.

They should tell Yao to shoot set shots when he's open and not on the baseline. He's such a great free throw shooter that the midrange shot should come easily.

It did look just like Van Gundy ball again.

there was a number of things i'd like to see get worked on, but a win is a win. our bench and the amount of talent we've got will keep us in games while we iron out the kinks. or atleast i hope. i wish we had more time to fine tune before just getting thrown in against the best in the league, but we may steamroll teams after the break.

Defense, no one has commented on.

Looks pretty good, and will be very formidable throughout the year.....................but we still can't stop Kobe.

It's just something about us that makes play well against.

Rafer had some good passes, but once again his crap shooting came into play. He also had a couple of very bad plays at the end and generally looked a bit lost when the pressure came on.

    I want Stevie to play.

WTF is this supposed to mean? The guy was on the pine ALL GAME..... if I were on the bench ALL GAME I would consider myself a spectator not a part of the team! It is totally classless in my opinion by the Rockets to pursue Francis if they plan on leaving him on the bench, the guy obviously has been dying to get out there after the mess in NY! He has a tonne of talent but down on confidence... as you would with everyone on his jock saying he's washed up etc.

I'm sick of this line..... 'you are not Franchise'.... who says he believe's he is the 'Franchise' player anymore? For gods sake he just wants some playing time on a winning team.... if he wanted to be 'Franchise' he had plenty of other teams he could sign upto and have guarenteed minutes with the ball in his hands!

My Analysis is that this board has become a joke with Francis bashing to the point no one realises how senseless it is! Give the guy a break and instead of gettin on his jock how about YOU be a supportive fan? He loves this town and he loves the team or he wouldn't come back after being thrown out the door... so give him the respect of this PLEASE!

We're clearly still learning the new offense. Lots of mistakes out there. And yet we won. We now have the talent to endure bad nights against bad teams. More important, we have the talent to pull out some wins while we're ironing out the kinks in the offense. By midseason we should be a machine.

I personally think Yao and Tmac played too many minutes.

We have a deep bench, it will be good to limit their minutes to around 30-35.

Rafer is rafer, he sets up the offense and we all know he can't shoot. But I don't think Steve is the answer, not until he drop 10+ pounds.

Not that I liked seeing Rafer turning the ball over at the end...

But how can someone say "Rafer goofed at the end of the game" and "Steve needs to play more" in the same sentence? Heck I almost expect Steve to goof in that situation, he's done it so many times, while Alston is usually very surehanded.

    Favorite part of the game:

Yao dunking on one end from behind the basket and then on the other end blocking fisher and creating a fast break for Tmac who finished with his left hand to avoid the crybaby-kobe block

Oh and Phil Jackson hopping out of his seat to avoid the storming Yao

Thank you Rafer for reminding us why Rockets went fishing early last year.

I will never doubt your consistency.

what are u talking about? 13-32 => 40% shooting. he got 27 fts, half of them he only deserved. what can we do when the refs give him calls? get T'd up?

adelman proved our D will still be great. but our O is FAR from good.
