I have never had any DMCA or other copyright problems with p2ptv. If you run peerguardian there is a good chance you won't be able to get anything at all because you've blocked all the computers that might upload the stream to you.

No it never blocks the channel for me and it still runs very smoothly......but regardless you should rather be safe than sorry.....and its not so much the DMCA that should give you problems as it is just random companies trying to intercept your connection signal......Most people don't like to be watched by random strange companies (they will be chinese when viewing SHTV)

You do understand sopcast is a p2p based streaming software dont you?
u SHARE your stream data with other people whos watching the same program as you are. Of course there will be people trying to connect to your peer(different from access). The way it works is the same as Edonkey, Bitcomet etc.
Besides, stop your conspiracy BS. Who you think you are? Why on earth those Chinese Companies trying to get access to your computer?How in hell you know those IPs are from CHINA? get a life.

 

Are you sure. Peerguardian just builds a list of IPs that will be blocked, which includes government agency, spam site, etc. It doesnt block connection from a specific country I think. Also it's a good thing in p2p world that you have many peers. I dont know much about sopcast, didnt like it. I suppose there is a way to set a max # of peer connections.

If you worried about people accessing your computer and scanning ports all that, your best bet is to also turn on the firewall, be sure to have tight control on your ports, dont leave backdoors open.

right it works the same way by blocking a set list of IP's.....no it doesn't block certain countries, but it does block all intrusive organizations and it just so happens that when you view SHTV all those IP's that are blocked originate from China....

Again peer guardian will not block your peers.....it only eliminates the watchful eye of harmful companies and organizations....
