[Disclaimer: this loss can not be blamed on the refs, but ----]

The refs were calling a lot of ticky tack (and even a few phantom) fouls on the Lakers end, throughout the second half.

However, whether it was this or some other reason, the Rockets stopped doing anything other than standing around. Rotations on offense and defense just failed completely in the fourth quarter.

There's always that token guy that goes for a career night in any given Rockets game. Last night, we made Jordan Clarkson that guy.

One guy dribbling and the other 4 watching. Not a recipe for winning.

As a franchise and stupid fanbase, our priorities are all fuqued up. all I hear is how the stats be on Harden? I don't hear that garbage from the Spurs on Kawhi. Petty stats over Wins, that's our culture. Harden the first to record a triple double while having the longest beard on October 26.

MDA took James out for too long... twice. And it cost us this game. We don't have the margin of error right now. These guys need some time playing together., in this offense. While we're going to give up a bunch, this is the kind of game we win fairly easy a little later IMO. James was headed for an easy 40 and 20 ...Scary.

Where did this post even come from? What dark corners of Clutchfans are you frequenting where Harden's stats are more important than a win? The board is in quasi-meltdown mode after losing to the Lakers despite Harden making history with his stats.

You're trying to tell me Spurs fans and management don't like to talk about their players stats?

So we all just going to ignore how Lamarcus Aldridge had to quit social media last year because the Spurs fanbase wasn't happy with his stats?

You want Harden to average 40+ minutes a game? If you can't beat LAL w 36 minutes of Harden then you can't win.

it just seemed like he took Harden out for a long time because he would play him for whole quarters then leave him out for half of others. Harden played a bunch. The sub schedule should be amended.

I expect MDA to have his finger on the pulse of the game...

I agree with this, but I like that MDA left him out for long stretches. I wish MDA experimented in the preseason so players could get used to it. MDA probably thought the Rocket would be good enough to beat the Lakers.. nope.

Rockets have to find a way to play without Harden.

I was screaming my head off when Capela and James where chilling on the bench during that 4th quarter. They should have been in way earlier and this game is easily a W.

I though MDA was a smart coach o_O

Lol at "lost their legs." Are you kidding? The Rockets were terrible offensively in the 2nd half because the Lakers made adjustments defensively. Their intensity was noticeably higher and we didn't counter at all. And "mid-season form" is about rust and rhythm, not stamina.

I've watched every game for the last 13 or so years and have never seen "tired legs" in the first freaking game of the season, nor heard of any coach making that excuse. Tired legs is when you play 5 games in 7 nights smh.

Their upcoming road trips are about to show them what tired legs really feel like.

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought Kevin McHale signed up for a ClutchFans account. ;)

Tired legs? Thank god everyday you're playing basketball for a living! Recharge your battery? No such thing in basketball!

Ha, well that is quite unfortunate as I had been staunchly in the "fire McHale" camp since the Portland abomination. But I do agree with that somewhat lol. I mean what type of training camp were they running where they were tired in the first game of the damn season?! With many starters not even playing since last Wednesday smh.
