If these superstars want their a$$es to be kissed for donating a tiny fraction of their salary then I'll pucker up all day long. Every dollar counts and these players deserve all the credit they get for donating their pocket change-many lives can be saved so I don't care how that money is raised.

And back to the Rockets, can we make a damn open shot? Our role players couldn't hit a open shot if their lives depended on it.

Hi guys, I went to the game, and it was frustrating to see Yao being mahandled by Chris Mihm. I was representing our Rockets by wearing my Yao jersey. As for the game, I think when we were making our run in the fourth, Jim Jackson would have been so helpful. If you are interested in pictures, I can post them, just let me know.

I hear ya but still it's pissing me off.

    From AP:
``It's for a great benefit,'' McGrady said. ``I tried not to think about it during the game, but every time I made a shot, I was like, `There's two thousand dollars, there's three thousand dollars.'''

150,000 people just died, so why f*** around by making it into a game? Why not be much more generous if you can afford to be?
Not something that should be in the game thread but I just had to add my piece.

I can translate the last sentence:

"Yao, go to LA, if you wanna build your own dynasty."

That basically sums up what the article is about and who the poster is.

We have lots of problems, but the main issue with the last two games:

WE GOT BURNT BY THE OUTSIDE SHOOTING OF THE OPPONENTS.

Adding Wesley and Barry was supposed to fix out perimeter defense problem. I am blaming JVG for the defensive strategy: meaningless double team leaving the shooters wide open.

Double team on the ballhandler works great against a team like Rockets who have laughable outside shooting, but not against teams with great outside shooting like the Suns, Supersonics, Lakers, Heat.

If JVG uses such strategy against the Supersonics, we will lose 10 games in 10 outings.

That was wack! Now we're below average again with games against Denver, Dallas, San Antonio and Memphis coming up. ::sigh::

    Go team!!!

That whole ESPN crew Steven Jackson, Greg Anthony, Tim Legler, John Saunders are a joke. Those guys defended the players in the Detroit debacle, saying the players were justified in going into the stands etc. Anthony and Jackson sounded like 2 clowns arguing about Vince Carter, Mike Tiriso had to calm them down. I got so sick of the ESPN commentary, I watched Worrell and Van for the 2nd half.

    I completely agree.

I got so disgusted with the lackluster play that I turned it off before halftime.

Bottom line is you can't let your opponents shoot close to 55% from the field and expect to win. Or if you do, you better outshoot them, which we did not as we shot in the 40s.

And when role players like Barry and Wesley are not hitting, it can make things get out of hand in a hurry.

You can't play for one half and expect to win, simple.

Isn't it Steven A. Smith, not Jackson? Well anyways, yeah the ESPN crew are a joke to basketball, they're not even analyzing games anymore, they're trying to create drama within the teams that they have playing that night. Basketball is a sport, not a freaking soap opera.

Tim Legler has always seemed like a Yao-hater, but he had a few insightful comments while doing the game. I agree about his comments on Yao regarding him always being half a step slow on defense. He said that if Yao would meet the ball intstead of always retreating, he would get fewer fouls.

He also bashed Yao for his horrible first half which Yao completely deserved. I have never seen Yao play worse than he did in the first half. He missed his first few easy shots, then kind of stopped posting up as agressively. He wasn't rebounding, and he got burned by Chris Mihm and Brian Grant in transition.

I would also like add that Mo Taylor is a complete disgrace. Yao has a pretty good reason for being slow, but isn't Mo supposed to be in the best shape of his life? To see Yao chasing his man, huffing and puffing, and then see Taylor half-assing it back right next to him made me want to throw up.

I don't think Tim Legler is a Yao hater, hes always advocated that Yao should be the first option since he broke out his rookie year. There is a difference between being a critic and being a bigot, and I don't think Legler is the former. People who never take criticism will never fix their flaws because they assume that they're perfect (which is far from the truth).

His assessment were very valid and I agree with alot of what he said about Yao. Yao just doesn't have that fire that every great player has nor does Yao display the aggressiveness or the tenacity to keep going at the opposing team.
