Agreed... a combination of more effort, awful defense by the Lakers, and some good execution with the pick and roll.

If they hadn't come out sleepwalking... it could have been a great game.

That's the same problem we all have been discussing over and over again. If our guards, and pf could hit the open shots consistently, The Rockets would be the team to beat.

There is nothing to be happy about in this game. Its past the point where we as fans should be feeling good b/c we closed the deficit from 24 - 9 to end the game. A very winnable game and the team didn't come out with enough energy in the first half to even give themselves a chance to win.
    Ridiculous.
To quote Napolean, "You're so frickin stupid!"

Except Tracy, we are 2-11 from 3s tonight. LA is 9-19 with Brian Cook going 2-3 from behind the arc.

Shooters, shooters, the Rockets need shooters. Why every other team has shooter while the Rockets suck in that area?

Even Miami has Damon Jones who is leading the NBA in 3 point shooting. And yet we passed him in the summer.

All I ask from our flower forwards are to play some D to protect Yao. MO+Howard are certainly much worse than Cato in that department.

It was funny reading this thread when the blame switched around from Yao, JVG, to now the guards and the weak PF's. Hey, we gotta blame somebody i guess.

Think on the bright side: The tsunami victims will be receiving a combined $73,000 from Kobe, Sura, and McGrady. :)

Sura is playing decent tonight with the exception of outside shooting (1-6) and that costly TO. Yao & TMac are above average. Yao opened the game 0-5 from the field but finished with 8-10 from the floor. We lost the game because of 2-14 shooting from Welsey/Barry.

I predicted an 8 point loss and the Rockets beat my expectation by 1.:p

What's up with Tim Legler??? Is he a Yao hater or what? I thought national color commentators were only allowed to offer bland, vanilla type analysis. He really went off on Yao. My favorite is "I don't know if Yao will EVER get better on offense." I mean common, that's not analysis, that's just hating..

I was pleasantly surprised with the comeback but it was too late. We dig ourselves into holes and then try to make a game out of it.
We need to be aggressive from the start because we lack the depth that most good teams have and the Lakers aren't much better than us.
I hope we can learn something positive from this experience.

Everyone in the league knows that the Rockets are very weak at 1 and 4 (now 2). It's not a secret. I guess that you cannot expect scrubs play like good role players, can you?

Rudy T has a knack for developing 3 point shooters. I never knew Brian Cook was that good of a 3 point shooter until Rudy T coached the Lakers. Jumaine Jones is pretty good from 3 point range too. Atkins is even good from 3 point range.
