Jalen started the season on fire, went into the tank the rest of Nov & Dec and began another hot streak in January before falling off again.

Put on your seat belt. He's got a few more peaks and valleys to go this season.

This play right there gave us a double-digit lead to start the 4th.. meaning - that’s why we lost this game, doesn’t it? It’s frustrating how many times we dropped double-digits leads this season..

With the gauntlet schedule that Phoenix has remaining, I expect the pick to end up around #9.

How the hell do you give up 46 points in the 4th quarter? Epic fail

So i often see in game threads complaints about Jalen not getting foul calls. And then hes compared to other players .. like Brunson tonight, who gets those calls all the time.

Well, just out of curiosity i looked up drives per game and Green leads the team at only 9.8 per game. Thats really low compared to the top penetrators in the league. For instance Brunson averages 18.9 drives per game. Almost double.

Brunson gets a foul 7.7% of the time and Jalen 7.9%.

The leading driver in the nba is Shai and he gets a foul called 8.7% of the time. So is only about .008 fouls/drive behind Shai, pretty much negligible. So no, such and such may not have gotten whatever call you think Jalen shouldve gotten.

He just doesnt drive the ball enough to the basket.

Theres really only a few outliers that get fouls at an abnormally high rate when driving (like Paola, Zion...) Jalen is either higher than most or not too far behind as fare as the rate he gets a foul call.

Question is, why doesnt he drive more? Lack of spacing? Not crafty enough? Low IQ? Too many cooks in the kitchen?

Some combo of all the above?

I am with you on this one, but I still don't get your Sengun hate.

When FVV is missing, even with Sengun the offense usually goes missing. Jabari is criticized a lot at times but he clearly makes a difference with his shooting and rebounding. This line up against the Knicks was necessary perhaps but painful to watch.

This is where statistics rely come in handy. I would’ve NEVER thought Jalen has a similar foul-per-drive rate as Brunson/Shai after watching the games, but numbers don’t lie.

I think this means to me that Jalen does indeed need to drive more, I think his lack of outright strength combined with mediocre spacing is contributing to him attacking the basket less, and I’m sure those little injuries don’t help either. I distinctly recall him being an excellent foul-drawer as a sophomore so I think as the spacing gets better, so will the amount of free throws he gets. It’s not like he’s gotten LESS crafty in the last two years

Unacceptable loss, mostly because Jalen Green cannot keep his dribble alive and threw bad passes, Brooks because for a veteran and smart defender he commits dumb fouls and Amen for not looking to score and just dribbling around looking for guys to pass it too. At least make a freaking move there Amen. Not necessarily that they are the only reason, but that kept the Knicks from feeling any pressure on defense at times and they knew Brooks would just commit those fouls so they even went at him.

Tate also had some wild sequences and Tari needs to learn to shoot open shots instead of dribbling inside where he sees 2-3 guys and then takes a bad shot or has to start all over again. Reed is unplayable and no Jeff Green again baffles me. Also Ime just allowing Green and Cam to just do whatever with the ball sometimes works, but at times he needs to call a freaking play when it’s clearly not.

Defensively we were very, very good and in a game where you kept them in check, they weren’t shooting the 3 well and Towns was basically non-existent you just cannot loose. Rotations with all these small guys also didn’t help so definitely Ime’s lack of playing Jack or Jeff hurt. Oh and from the Knicks side, man y’all some whiny ass dudes. I thought this was a tough team, but they cry foul every single play. It clearly worked though, in the 2nd half they got a lot of calls and no we didn’t lose because Jalen didn’t flop.

Jesus chris Hollins needs to go, 5 booms and all that stupid aeromaxxin ****….**** me he’s getting cornier than Bullard.

These are great stats. Jalen also is among the league leaders in dribbles before a shot. 35% of his shots are 7+ dribbles. That's among the league leaders, but he shoots only 41.4% on those attempts. By contrast, SGA (54%) Jalen Brunson (50%) and Cade Cunningham (46%) make a much higher percentage. It's probably because these other players are driving and probing.

They are more crafty and create more indecision.

One formula that might help Jalen is more drives, less dribbles.

I agree, but to some extent I celebrate feeling this way. No real excuse for the Nets, but the other two were last second losses to the number three team in each conference on their home courts. The fact we expected to win and are annoyed is a sign we believe in the team. To be realistic, they probably aren’t really a top-4 team in the entire league, but they definitely are top-8 and that is something I couldn’t have predicted a year ago.
