Given Lin's character, I highly doubt that. He was most likely just trying to give a shoutout to Shumpert, who was one of the unsung heroes of Linsanity.

But it worked perfectly as a cold-blooded diss to Melo, LOL.

Yes!!! What a great game by the Rockets. See, Harden and Lin can play together and do well, it's just going to take a little time for them to get accustomed to playing with each other.

One thing that bothers me are the bounce passes to Asik. Asik has exceeded my expectations this year and I'm glad we have him. But, Asik does not have good hands and he has some games when he just can't hold on to the ball. Asik can rebound, block shots, and play defense, but Greg Smith has better hands. I think we may see Smith's minutes increase against some opponents just because he can hold onto the ball better than Asik.

no the quote was taken out of context....right after Lin said that he also mentioned Melo and Amare as well. Typical NY media hype.

Lin is a superstar right now. He's one of the most popular players in the nba...... And to say he will never be an elite guard....I don't kow, he was elite last scoring 25 a game.... If he hits the threes a bit better and attacks the rack he cold be elite....time will tell but to say he can't be elite....that's simply nonsense

As much as I like Lin, he is still work in progress with potential so I wouldn't go that far to call him Superstar. Give it time and he can become a complete player.

He was referring to the Knicks' defense.

they did report things about him a few times b4 lol.
i was reading a business paper today and unexpectedly there's one column on lin's struggles where normally it'll only contain soccer news on the sports page.

Don't get too big of a head and carried away. Its good that Lin feels how bad it is when he is playing to his weakness so that he can improve that and hopefully one day be a killer knock down catch and jump shot. That is what the great superstars do, no time on the clock inbound pass, killer shot. He has a long ways to go, but no doubt his first step and running the floor is a talent.

One of the keys (if not the main one) to the Harden/Lin attack working last night is that these guys just attacked all night, didn't settle into the ISO rut, and got the running game going, whether it be on Knicks' misses or makes. That got everyone into a rhythm. Since Lin is a rhythm player, he got going, got to handle the ball a lot - and being on the run in a quick-strike offense looked like it suited everybody (aside from Asik, who is mainly a D guy in this case). With this quicker style, Harden and Lin can both make plays and get their shots in, can both handle the ball a lot, since they're spending less time bogged down in a halfcourt, clock-milking offense. There's more time and possessions to share the ball when they're both out there. Coaches need to take note of what worked.
