ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Knicks 11/14/2010

Actually, I'm okay with the swap being after this season. Remember, the 2012 pick is top-5 protected, plus the Knicks should be better next year. I'd rather take my chances on the "less protected" (only top-1) swap with the most-likely-crappier Knicks team this season. THIS Knicks team will probably have a higher probability of landing the #2 or #3 pick in the lottery than next year's Knicks team will have of landing in the 6-to-8 range.

 

Pegging this game as the first must win of the season. Not only for this years run but for the future as well.

 

Lets win and have luis scola sprain his ankle while we're at it!

 

Well, Knicks couldn't have traded their 2011 pick outright-- they already gave their 2010 first rounder to the Jazz (who took G. Hayward).

 

Well, apart from our strategy, again facing a team like Knicks depends on their shooting night also. If they have an off-night we will win because they live and die by their jumpers.

I forgot which game when Knicks won because all of their players just can not miss from 3 point land.

We can not give them a chance to get hot.

 

That is an easy win for the Rockets. I mean EASY.

The Knicks have lost like 4 in a row and they really suck.

 

Nothing is easy unless you are playing the Nets of last year! Anyhow, my simulation states that we have a 59% chance of winning. Doesn't sound easy to me.

 

Hill is going to have a monster game.

Well yea, I kinda forgot how bad we can play. And I know we won at Indiana and I just hope we can gain some momentum going forward.

Knicks are struggling - should help.

 

Rockets need to focus more on guarding the perimeter than packing the paint. D'Antoni has only been able to win, when the 3's are falling. They take a ridiculous number of 3pters.

 

Hill will play inspired back in MSG, give him minutes RA!

 

Impossible, he's still a bad rookie.

If its Hill/Miller at the 5 guarding Amare and Scola at the 4 guarding Gallinari, we could be in for a long night with Gallo lighting it up from 3 point land....

I'm surprised no one has mentioned their small lineup....chandler plays the 4. Amare the 5.

You'd want to put Hill on Amar'e, but that's going to cut into Scola's PT...i can't see Scola being a 4 on Chandler. Also, when Randolph is in he'll be too fast for Scola...Hopefully Jefferies can get some time against Randolph.

I guess we could see this lineup:

kyle - felton
martin -- fields
lee ---Gallinari
shane -- chandler
Scola ---amar'e


Their bigs at the 4/5 are playing big minutes, into the 40s..usually a third player will get up ther ein minutes as well...tough game not to have Bud and brooks, we could have used depth to run them off the court..

This is not an easy game. The only sure thing in this league is when you play the T-Wolves. Every other team in the league is at the very least competitive.

 

just got tickets to the game. haven't seen the rockets in person since hakeem was on the team.
