I have been watching Rafer for two seasons, just awful, at times, even pathetic. I don't know what to make of him. He has made more teardrops in the last two weeks than he made all of last season. If he can keep this up, this a major improvement. I still don't fully believe, but I know this, he has played great the last two weeks. He actually doesn't look like the same player. Just one of his very few hot streaks? We will see. Yao was a man among boys tonight, which is very surprising considering this was a back to back. I think he looks forward to playing against Curry. Scola is going to be huge before the season is over. The more minutes he gets, the better he looks. He shot 50%, but had several tough misses.
guys, does any of u think Thomas' ejection was a factor for rox's victory?? like i mean the Knicks just lost focus and start to turn balls over after Thomoas was ejected.
Isiah's complaint when he got ejected was that Yao didn't get called for 3 seconds when Alston hit the runner...saw the post game interview.
Seemed to me like he was using the old "get ejected and motivate the team" method. Didn't work too well though.
This is Isiah's Postgame interview. He basically claims that he 'wants to make a scene' to bring refs' attention to Yao who he believes got away with many 3s violations tonight. I guess he got the first part right... idiot. http://www.zshare.net/video/63582716e0f624/
I too find myself wondering if Rafer's play will last, but there's a striking difference between the way he's playing now and the hot streaks that he's had in the past under JVG. Before, Rafer would play well when he shot the 3 pt bomb well. Given that Rafer will always be an average shooter, any deviation from the norm should be viewed with caution. Under Adelman, rafer has been thriving not just by shooting well, but mainly by driving. His teardrop is falling and it's a direct result of him 1.) getting more opportunities to penetrate and 2.) working on his finishes in practice. I am cautiously optimistic right now. A lot will depend on how he adjusts with T-mac there, but I think Rafer continuing to be aggressive penetrating to the basket is a major key to Rockets' success.
The feel is so different now. Today even we behind 6 points at 3q, I still feel very confidence we will win this game for sure. We always have someone step up to score, so no worry like before. that's great. Yao has a great game. Rafer ... great. Scola, Head, Hayes, battier all did great job. AB is ok also. Our 3s are cold in first half. I really like the feeling when we hit 3s and that BOOM from fans in chat room. Go Rox. I beilve when Tmac come back we will see a lot alley oop from him and Rafer. and Rockets will run a over 10 games win streak.
All those Stats about the Rockets not winning without T-Mac Those at Without T-Mac. . with JVG This is a New Era .. .this is the Without T-Mac WITH ADELMAN!!! The Adelman team can win without T-Mac. .the JVG team . .cannot Rocket River Give the A-Man some love too
Clutch make a little mistake on the front page recap of tonight's game. Rockets are 19-17, not 18-17.
I was at the game tonight. It was interesting to see how the crowd booed when the announcer mentioned Isiah's name before the game and then the crowd cheered when Isiah was ejected. This was my first live rockets game, it was fun to see Yao stepping up and making a few nasty dunks.
I agree, and I also agree with your signature. Wow, that move may have been good on the ledger, but that was brain dead talent wise. Your characterization of Rafer as an "average shooter" was generous, especially if one ignores the last two weeks.
