Like I said right after the first half, I was never worried about the outcome of this game.

The Rockets for some reason (tired legs from last night, I guess) decided to mail it in on defense in the 2nd quarter. They were doing just fine on offense, but they were completely lethargic on defense -- as highlighted by Marbury strolling to the basket with ease and getting a layup with the clock running out and a foul to give.

I guess Adelman gave them an earful at halftime and they came out with more intensity in the 3rd. But what was great was how, after Isiah got his 2nd T, they just completely clamped down on defense and closed out the game.

This is starting to look like an elite team again.

Also, Yao was MVP-like tonight. It's been a while since I've felt like that about his performances, so it's great to see the big man coming around once again. Of course, he always owns the Knicks, so that was to be expected.

As good as Yao's offense was tonight his interior defense was outstanding too.

No actually. Whats the fascination with being first to post anyway? At least add something useful.

Will be interesting to see what happens if T-Mac returns on Friday. Will we return to how we were prior to his injury or will Rafer/Scola/Head etc. retain their good form and make us FORMIDABLE along with Tracy?

RAfer played well, and SCOLA gave some punch at the end
    Yao was a beast.

Loved the drive and dunk - Yao off the dribble! we need vid of that ASAP.

This is the Adelman offense we were expecting..it makes things a LOT easier for Yao, and everyone contributes.

This is exactly why I have been advertising Scola over Hayes in the 4th. Teams can not leave Scolar unguarded and double on Yao like they do against Hayes constantly.

I really loved the Hayes/Scola rotation by Adelman tonight. Scola really needs to improve on his defensive rebounding -- he failed to box out his man a few too many times, but he finally started to show what we need him for on offense -- flashing to the middle and making opposing teams pay for fronting Yao. Good stuff.

Good game, could have been over quicker if Rockets played hard all the way through but still good win.

I would like to see the close out quarters better though.

    ;)

Adding T-Mac to this mix is going to be awesome. I am so impressed by Scola and Alston's play lately. Yao, of course, was the man tonight, but the entire team really buckled down in the second half. I don't care who it's against, holding an NBA team to 39 points in a half on their court is pretty damn impressive.

    Yao dominated the game.

Yao 36pts, 11R...impressive His diversified skills are killing Nicks. Great Work, man.

Rafer And Scola helped a lot. thx.

was anyone else screaming at adelman to put in scola for hayes in the 3rd quarter when they were just completely double teaming yao the entire play?

i guess he was saving scola for the finish, but damn that was frustrating playing offense 5 on 4 and not being able to get yao any touches...

Scola is awesome. Great fundamentals and very adept at taking the charge. Finally we have a PF who can hit the mid-range jumper AND rebound and play D.
*sniff* we finally have an Argentinian flopper of our very own. *cries*

Walt Frazier quotes about Yao on MSG:

    "...on the threshold of greatness."

"the best center in the NBA"

    Mike Breen

"only really has one weakness in his game....(I think it was something about fronting)
