I somewhat disagree with this statement regarding Yao because he is a skilled player for the most part, he is not pushing anyone around with his weight. They say its hard but in reality they did a lot better job of this in the 1990's. I think they say its hard because they know they are making bad calls to keep Dave Stern happy. He does not want Yao to go to the line everytime he is fouled because it will slow down the games and fans will get board, they prefer the small guy winning. On defense if he is not incorrectly called for fouls the game for the most part the game is slowed down because no one will go to the rim in a half court setting. Yao cannot play good defense he has to play perfect defense and cannot play physical in the post even if he wanted to or he will foul out by mid first quarter

While still in the transition process, Yao went into Saturday's game averaging 21.7 points and 10.1 rebounds, enough for Miller to believe Yao will become even more of an offensive force.

"He's getting to be more dominant on a consistent basis," Miller said. "He's the biggest guy in the league, and I think Rick's going to put in different parts of his game he didn't know he had.

"I could teach him a few of Rick's tricks he likes to see, I'm sure. I could teach him to pass."

    Is Miller hinting at something?

I thought we were win now, its time, all the pieces in the right place.

Now we hear that this offense TAKES TIME to get started. possibly a few seasons? I think instead of watching the next Rockets game I'll just put my balls in a vice.

    Dear Rick,

Please insert Francis, Scola, and Bonzi into the starting line-up asap. Please ensure Scola gets more touches so he can score more (which we know he can). We know the Hayes, Battier, and Alston combination is a dead-end. While they each can contribute at times, their too inconsistent to be starters. They make for good back-up players off the bench...if you don't need much offense. Shake this sh*t up, please, and quit trying to make last year's starting line-up work because it does not!

    Sincerely,

    Surfguy

I am still waiting for the Adelman offense to arrive and I am slowly running out of patience.

Last night's game was a perfect example of why we need more scoring from the rest of the team. The intangibles (Battier) and the energy (Hayes) don't translate into points as far as I can tell.

I wonder what Adelman has in his bag of tricks to accelerate the metamorphosis of this pathetic offense.

The Rockets don't have the right type of players to make Adelman's system work.

its not the offense which is overly concerning, its the total lack of defensive intensity. if the rox want to be a great team(or above mediocre at this point) they will have to put more energy into the defense. until this team turns into the offensive juggernaut we all want them to be, its the defense which will determine how they do.
