Hopefully. It is the beginning of the season. I'm sure they will find that balance. I just want the ball in Lawson's hands more so he get used to where his teammates like the ball and how the Rockets play bc he's been having some uncharactistic turnovers. Especially in this game.
I figured we would win if Harden came to play, Capela was his monstrous pre-season self and our bigs in Hayes & Montrezl would get minutes. So happy to see it happen
We always win when Harden bails us out. I love Hayes's high post passing though, if we could incorporate some of that we have some of the best cutters the league with Harden, Brewer, and Thornton. And for Thornton, dude's just a baller. He's thinking buckets. I'm happy we were on this game, but these kind of games keeps us delusional on our actual flaws. Our p&r defense was ****, and if Harden didn't cook up Sacto with that 43/13 game and had an average game we would've suffered. Again, our backbone HAS to be our defense. We have to make sure if Harden's cooking or not, we're in the game with our defense.
Clint Capela. Love that dude. Double Double, 75% fg% with 4 blocks is going to be a very common thing from him.
Espn thread: we get no respect! F the haters!! Game thread: why can't we hold lead? McHale stupid!! Half of rotation missing? We should win by 30! ROCKETS SUCK!!!
This is true, but when the Rockets are playing without their top three big men *and* their best defensive guard, it's hard to expect them to be at their best defensively.
Last year we were fantastic defensively early in the season and we had Papanikolaou playing big minutes at PF. It's not the personnel, it's the focus, intensity and communication. This is largely the same team from last year, there shouldn't be this big of a dropoff. We are ranked 24th in defense, that is unacceptable.
