I personally don't think Span is going to get any playing time with the rox anymore

he is gone by end of season

I think that will be the case if JVG is extended to a new deal.

He Attacks the rim and draws alot of fouls. he drew around 7 fouls tonight. that is a very valueable asset to have. I'm on the Da Dakota play billy bandwagon. i wasnt prior tonight. but after seeing how good he can be and pretty much is better then lucas, i say play him more. should be a Primary backup.

Yeah V-Span is way better than Lucas, if he had his shot going tonight, he woulda had a good night, but with the free throws, he is pretty good, he just needs to work on turnovers, but the main turnovers were on dumb passes.

He already stated in he's blog that he aint going. so thats not an issue. he looks emotionless out there. that dosent mean he dosent care, but thats the way he is. just like tracy ..

I have a feeling, if Vspan can fix his jumper, with his slashing style, he would get playing time even though he turns over the ball a lot and can't defend well yet. If he wants to stay in the NBA, he needs to spend the whole summer working on his jumpers and TOs, defence will come eventually.

Well, if he's shot improve, he has all the makings of a very good starting calibare player.

Possibly, his biggest weakness is his TO problem, 3 assists and 4 TOs. That's difficult to fix.

Aggrasive TO's are the kind i can tolerate. Span needs to cut those sill passes out. but if he commits tunrover whilst attacking the rim or trying to create a shot for someone, i can live with those.

    Huh?

I thought he was up and down....he attacked the rim well, but he shot like crap and had 2 very bad turnovers where he flipped the ball without looking.

I like Billy (obviously) and think he has a future, but he has to protect the ball and shoot better.

However, he would have had 10 assists tonight if his teamates could hit wide open shots.

Nope. Too much ANALysis on turnovers. VSpan had a much more productive game than Lucas did tonight even with the 4 turnovers. We would have had a better chance of winning this game if he had been able to run the point for all of his minutes and then about 10 more of Lucas' minutes.

Two of VSpan's turnovers were actually on his mates. One pass he was throwing to the corner and Juwan tried to intercept it in the paint. On another one, he threw the ball to Lucas and Lucas just sat down on the pass instead of moving towards the ball. It was like Lucas didn't want the ball. Take those 2 TOs away and he has a very reasonable TO ratio. And his low shooting percentage is way overcome by all the free throws he got off fouls he drew driving to the hole and getting off the shot. Lucas just jacked a bunch of shots.

13 points on 7 shots compared to 10 points on 13 shots. VSpan was way more efficient and productive. I'll take him driving to the rim with the high turnovers and low shooting percentages as long as he is drawing shooting fouls like he did anytime over Lucas jacking his typical 35% from the field and not getting anybody else the ball or drawing any fouls.

And Span wonders why JVG doesn't play him.

I think I prefer JL3 over Span. If you just work on JL3 shooting, he'll be alright.

JL3 is not a PG, he is an undersized 2 guard....and his shooting is suspect....V-Span is a PG but his shooting is also suspect but his turnovers are a problem.

Both are flawed.......I would prefer V-SPan with his defense and attack the rim mentality as the backup....but it is going to have to wait until next year.

i prefer JLIII as a scoring spark off the bench, esp. when Rafer is cold.
Vspan meanwhile, has much more potential, I hope he works on his shot and get even stronger over the summer ;; he can be a legit starting PG one day. Best projection: He and Rafer become 1a and 1b PGs of our team

Based on this game, does Novak have any hope? He doesn't seemed to have improved in any way since the start of the season.

I liked what I saw from VSpan...
He just needs to use the rest of the year to improve his jump shot...then he will get his minutes...ahead of JLIII for sure..
