For the Rockets it does because we are unproven with a bunch of players that are average to good. So with every game being close if we sneak in the playoffs we lose first round in 4-6 games. We run out of gas then we will lose 4 games in row just as we could win 4 in a row with hustle and energy.
If you really think one loss means a team sucks you don't know anything about basketball, or sports, or statistics. It doesn't matter what team it is, "one" is not a sample size.
This game is the beginning. I don't have to prove i know anything the rockets will show you that because their playing denver then the clippers right after that and guess what they are a lot better then a utah team without millsap and bell. We are not going to win on hustle alone multiple guys have to put the ball in the basket, guys have to rebound and play defense... utah is just the beginning of us getting schooled unless we got some tricks up our sleeves... this playing great at home stuff will faze out if we don't fix what's going on in the paint... that's what it is.
This type of game was bound to happen. Most teams this season have had several of these no energy blow out road games at end of back to back. I'm not worried at all. These games happen. We'll be back next game
The worse Rocket's losses of all time seem to be in Utah. Maybe not the case, but really really seems that way. Rockets walk in that building and turn to jelly.
Did you watch the game? Our energy level was just way down. We aren't going to play like this every game....
Lowry: They pushed the ball in transition. We know they get after it at home. They played with desperation and they got it. ... Very disappointing. We have to bounce back. We learn from it, watch a film session, and get back at it Friday. ... We gotta battle it out. Play tougher. ... We felt we got outworked tonight. ... Its not hard to match. You just have to put yourself into it. Tough loss but we gotta learn from it and go back to work Friday. Scola: We can lose but we cant let this happen. We cant decide in the 3rd that we're not gonna win the game. We gotta fight. We got to play til the end. Quite obvious at some point we decided that we werent playing good and we werent going to win. We gotta keep playing. This is our job. If we're losing, we're losing. We gotta keep playing hard. If we lose, we lose. We cant let that happen. We play hard until the end. ... 6-7 teams fighting for 3-4 spots. We gotta play the right way until the end of the game.
Not sticking up for this guy, but I think to a certain extent the frustration lies not in the one loss in an impressive month of victories, but the weaknesses this team has a need for that get exposed night after night. I think Rockets followers(notice I didnt use the word FANS) are just used to Adelman offense led offensive teams that were very Jekkle and Hyde.... Blowout victory, or blowout loss type of games. McHale is winning games ugly and this team has glarring needs on both ends of the court that can be hidden by coaching moves, but it can be ugly to watch. These are very grind it out games that even when they are winning games, it always seems like there is something wrong with this team. Anyways, thats my two cents on the frustration level here on the board. I agree with you though that most people here dont understand basketball and could never accurately pinpoint what is wrong, or what they dont like. However, what they do know how to do is make dumb accusations and point the finger at the most obvious candidate... the guy who had another off night, or the most likely guy... the coach with a Minnesota accent.
No, but he should be. Been a tough year for him even though he's hitting his career average's he hasn't been able to be the go-to guy in the post late in games that we thought he could be in McHale's system. I will say however, that Scola, even when he isn't scoring in the post, draws alot of attention and his defender does not shade over on defense when Scola has space in the post even late in games. Unfortunately, he's all the Rockets have now for a post game, so until they can get him some help, thats the best they can do.
When our energy is up we don't get blown out by 20 but we still have problems in the paint offensively and defensively. You'll see when we play in the future unless Dalambert starts saving us again or Scola finds his old self. This is about to be game 7 2009 in L.A.
