So does that mean he's not the player we're expecting? I sure think he IS the player we expect and more....i'm just frustrated at his play tonight and the Rockets.....

I gotta admit that you have a point there. Honestly, I have no freaking idea how they'll be able to fix this thing this season. Even if ( and that's a big IF) Sura comes through, they'll still have a roster stocked with players with severe shortcomings. The fault (or blame) has to go to the GM and the organization for their CONTINUED inability to find and evaluate talent. If the same people who put this team together are still here next year, then I'm afraid that all you will have to look forward to is yet another year of the same.

Meanwhile, out in LA, a dapper looking Rudy T is pacing the sidelines as one Kobe and the Kobeyettes run up and down the floor, outperforming, fighting, diving for loose balls, hustling every second on the floor, winning ballgames, and enjoying every minute of it.

Yaoming is so big.He deserves so many foul calls????Yaoming looks like more a wrestler than a basketball player.Everyone wants to cheat refs of foul calls on yaoming.

Yeah, it doesn't matter who you are; Shaq, Yao, or any other player. Its hard to shoot with someone on your back or someone hitting your elbow. Its just crazy. I don't understand it. It seems some players give him a little bump just before he gets his shot off to barely through it off. That is the only way some of these guys can guard him; they mug him everytime down court. Of course, they know they can get way it. I mean, geez, he is 7ft 6. He should be able to make shots with someone on his back, hitting his arm, or even pushing him to the floor. Remember, he's Yao Ming! Just crazy

Whether those two calls were fouls on Yao or not, on the second one why did he initiate contact on Collins, who is barely 6'11" and can't jump? He already had good position, why not just turn and shoot over the top? WTF is Ewing teaching him?

Shaq only had 7 points at the half against Detroit tonight because he had to sit with foul touble though the guys guarding him only had 1 foul each.

The offensive foul calls against Yao are why I hate the Jazz. They have Jerry Sloan, one of the toughest ever players in the NBA and a coach who demands toughness from his players and plays one of the roughest brands of basketball out there forcing teams to get hammered by hard screens and taking hard fouls. BUT...they flop all over the floor like they are 90-pound weaklings.

That just pisses me the hell off. It's like hitting someone when their back is turned and then pointing at the guy next to you as if he did it. It is just weak, especially given their other tactics.

Yeah, sometimes I don't understand why he always has to do a move to the basket. He needs to learn to just get the ball, turnaround, then shoot. Also, I don't understand why he jumps up to block the shots of other players. He always goes for fakes. It has realy be magnified the last couple of games. Oh well, there is just so much. Its a wonder if someone is telling him or he is just not listening.

He didn't really initiate contact. He just turned to shoot and Collins got up underneath him and created the contact on his own.

I have a problem with the inconsistency of the calls. If Yao breathes on someone funny, it's a foul. But, if he can be absolutely hammered under the basket and it's a no-call. That is really frustrating. If he fouls out but goes to the line 15 times a game, I could live with it.

Yao did exactly that--he just turned and a slight bump at best, and an offensive foul was called. Unless you prefer him to make a fadeaway 5 feet away from the basket.

You may be right, but look at San Antonio taking a chance and starting a 19 year old Tony Parker at the point during his rookie year. We may not need much scoring from him. We need Barrett to distribute the ball with minimal turnovers and hit the open shot when he has one. I know its a lot to ask for a rookie, but from what I understand he was a very talented college player.

That is just crazy about Shaq. Shaq and Yao should team up together and really start running over people and showing what a real foul is.

And Jeff, every Rockets fan should hate Utah. I mean Karl and Stockton aint there...but Sloan still is. I mean, I think he taught them guys how to play dirty. And yes, the flops; don't even get me started. I mean, it seems for every 5 or 6 charging calls, there is one block call. Its just crazy. The little guys can bang and bang. The big guys can't (Shaq and Yao). You know if they really wanted to hurt someone, they could. I get so fustrated with the refs. Man, I get so FUSTRATED.

Totally agree. All I see is a lot of screening, and running AROUND AND AROUND, and we still end up with T-Mac taking an one on one 20 foot jumpshot, with no one else in sight for offensive rebound. Some creative offensive schemes by JVG.

Why yao got so easily foul calls is partly that he had a stronge intention on defence. Our PF's defence is so bad.

We need Yao to protect the basket and get the rebounds.
Stop fooling his ass on the perimeter. He's too slow to be
    effective there.

This team needs a spark or something. Put Barrett in the starting rotation, he deserves it and can maybe get this team going a little bit. This team looks so uptight to me. It seems as if no one is having any fun and are all trying too hard. I wonder if JVG's message about "put up or you will be gone" has got the team trying to be too perfect or even maybe looking over thier shoulders now. I have never seen MoT look so lost as I did tonight. Who knows, maybe they all ate too much turkey or the extra flight back and forth to Houston for Thanksgiving messed with thier legs. This was the first game this season that I felt like the team was not putting out full effort.
