hehehe...funny...In what universe could Ostef-*** posterize ANYONE besides a fifth grader?!! Rox: 95 j*zz: 83
Rox should and can win this one...but they cannot underestimate the Jazz! This Jazz team has already won more games than some people predicted they would win all season. AK 47 and Harpring and the rest of the Jazz can execute. They cant be taken lightly guys!!!! GO ROCKETS!
It was last year, the 2nd game in a home & home set with the Jazz after the Rox played like morons late and lost in overtime @ Compaq. I believe they won by 30.
The Jazz don't have good players, they can beat average teams because of good coaching, but this one should be a blowout by us. 102-80 Jazz have no answer for Yao, I see a big game for him tonight.
Jazz fan here: The Rox should win this game, but beware of the following: 1) Osterfat is big enough to bother Yao. Plus Borchardt may be able to score/draw fouls on him. 2) Lopez may be better than Arroyo. He's definitely quicker. Francis should be able to post him up and get his on offense, but the Rox had better get back on 'D'. 3) Harpring is a Rockets killer. 4) Kirilenko has REALLY elevated his game this year. 5) Anybody who still thinks the Jazz are slow has been smoking crack from the past: don't be surprised to see them running in an effort to wear Yao out. 6) Former Jazzmen Mooch, Scott Paginator, and would-be Jazznerd Pike will have little to no impact on the game. 7) However, I fear Jim Jackson. He is a Jazz killer. So to oversimplify, the game comes down to Cat Mobley's shot selection. If he takes and makes good shots, Rox win. If he fires bricks, Jazz run Rox out of the building. Should be entertaining either way.
Utah is not on par with the Blazers, but Utah is also way above the Clippers. This will be a tight, close game, and the Rockets are going to have to really cut down on their mistakes and up their strengths if they want to win. A win will be great, absolute elation. But a loss to Utah will be demoralizing. It'll either say that Utah is a legit team, despite losing their best two players and/or the Rockets are pretenders. The Rockets HAVE to win this game if they want to avoid being further disrespected. More than the Rockets Vs Utah, it's Jeff Van Gundy Vs Jerry Sloan. I think, in the end, it'll come down to who gets outcoached. And Jerry Sloan is not someone to underestimate, especially with what he's doing with this team. Van Gundy will have to be at his best wits whenever he decides to abruptly pull out and put in players--and he's going to have to be absolutely precise this time around with when he should take out Yao Ming for rest if Yao ends up having one of his 1st quarter/1st half dominating hot streaks. I have a feeling that Steve is going to build on his performance against the Clippers and come out strong. When Steve plays well and unselfishly, the other guys follow suit. If Yao plays hot, the Rockets should be fine. This won't be a test of talent, since the Rockets have that. More than talent, it'll be a test of the player's maturity, resolve, intelligence, and persistence. Never underestimate the heart of a champion, but also never underestimate the prayers of a million Mormans.
To add to the last sentence in my last post, I'm sure 90 percent of the fans in Utah think Jeff Van Gundy is going to hell because he's addicted to Diet Coke.
Tannersearle78, where have you been? I don't remember reading your posts until recently, and they are HILARIOUS! You also have some very good insights, but I really enjoy your humor. I should be more mature, but I am a sucker for "potty jokes." Remember that scene in "Dumb and Dumber?" The Yao "loose bowels" remarks, well, I laughed out loud. Then I read a post where you referred to principles of logic. You are my kind of poster!
we win but its close although kirilenko dominates for 30+, yao and cato step up the D and we win late 91-87 yao-21-9-3
I am a little worried about this game considering that the Jazz are 6-1 at home, but we should still come out with a victory. Rox-94 Jazz-87 Yao- 19-14-3
In a lot of games last years, the Rockets were trailing badly in the first quarter and was not able to come back. This year, in every game, at some point they were leading especially in the first quarter. Holding the lead is a problem it seems and not the comeback.
Why are people scared of Carlos Arroyo? He thrived this season only because he plays in the Jazz system. Moochie could do just as well as Arroyo if he were playing for Utah (OK maybe that is a bit of a stretch). Rox should win this one. 87 - 78. Expect Pike to have a good game.
An interesting article about John Amechi today. Good insight into Solan. I always assumed he was a robot, but didn't think he'd go ballistic over cell phones. Then again, if I was the coach and they were out there running around with.... p.s. He's also one of the gifted coaches in the past ten years, IMO. But Jeff is as robotic as I want my coaches, especially after Rudy T. Rockets play well in Utah, slip by Jazz 87 - 84.
NO. Arroyo is a lot better than Moochie. Both Lopez and Arroyo are crafty guards. Watch out for Lopez! Arroyo is injured, I think.
