BOOZER and OKUR just a nice combo, YAO really having hard time. But he gor in deep position somehow just not making them
All I can say is: I can't believe YAO still has to prove himself on this board. The guy has only been an All Star like 5 times.? Chill out. The NBA season is a marathon and Yao will only have a handful of games like this. Besides, he got taken out of the game by hte referees unfairly. Sometimes, it's tough to get your rhythm back, especially when you're a big guy.
Well I don't know about Okur since Yao has been put on Boozer mostly. But I was talking offensively. Olajuwon used to have battles with Ewing and Robinson. Yao just has to be his usual self offensively because it's hard to stop great players when they're on.
our BENCH did it again...!!!! I have never seen a bench this good...for the rockets i mean.....I know it's only 2 games...but hopefully they keep it up..and no injuries
Yeah I was just responding to the moron who said Yao was scared of boozer. Its either you put Yao on boozer and live with Boozer scoring or you have Yao chase okur around the perimeter and leave Chuck defending the paint, that or you just sit Yao.
Tmac--amazing, even if he produces 1/2 of that next game with more out of yao and company we will be good. Yao--was not officiated fairly at times, he was off on his shot, played good D and made some key shots down the stretch. Bonzi--one spectacular rainbow J !!! Shane, Scola, and Hayes--awesome Rafer--decent, made up for the turnovers with some offense Mike James--God sent Head and Mutombo--A for effort Go rockets.
Great game. Scola showed why he's going to be an impact player on the Rocks. Mike James showed why we got him back, and why he should never have left. Tracy showed that in the right offense, healthy, and with a better supporting cast, he can be one of the very best scorers in the league, again, and possibly lead the league in scoring if he stays healthy. He looks damned healthy right now! A lot of us thought McGrady's scoring average might take a dip because of all the weapons we have. What has happened is that those weapons can not only score, but can pass the rock. Scola is an excellent passer, James is an excellent passer, Bonzi can pass, as well, when he remembers. Battier is a good passer, if told to do it. Yao is a good passer. With this offense, they are getting into their offensive sets quickly, moving the ball, and getting people open. Result? Tracy is getting shots he wasn't getting last year. He doesn't have the responsibility of running the team along with everything else. Instead of scoring fewer points, he's going to score more. I love it. We don't need Mike James to be a pure point guard. With everyone moving the ball, he doesn't have to be. Rafer is showing why he shouldn't be playing more than 20 minutes a game. Bonzi, Scola, and James come in and the other team wonders what hit them. Yao has an off night, and so what? Viva Scola!!! Tonight, he showed what he can do. When he gets more comfortable, his scoring is going to go up and his defense will improve. I think those worried about his rebounding can relax. I think those wondering if he could spell Yao at the 5 spot and give us a different look can relax. He's going to be huge. The Spurs are going to be on suicide watch by the break. I'm so excited, it's hard not to jump up and down.
Yao doesn't have to prove himself...but when he's sucking it up take him out. Adelman did that tonight by going to the bench earlier than usual and the rockets came back. Jazz had no idea what happened to them out there.
oh and please don't start whining guys...every player is going to have an off night...TMAC will have one too....so back off of YAO....and enjoy the WIN...and get ready for SATURDAY !!!!! get ya popcorn ready!
Yea, I'm really liking the adjustments he makes. He goes with what is working and changes what doesn't. When they finally get the offense down they're going to be really good.
when yao has an off night offensively, he's really useless at times but he redeemed himself so that's good yao didn't wilt as the game went on. that showed his confidence.
Boom Baby! That's what I'm talking about. Yao is always going to have trouble with this team, but the Rockets also have a real team this year. McGrady was awesome tonight but Scola did exactly what he needed to do... against the Jazz he's just like having CB4 against the Sonics... he's the tonic for what ails us. Also, Battier looks more engaged and fired up this season than I have seen him since college. I'm a firm believer that a good start sets the stage for a good year and so far, this is a damn good start.
i can just see now, that this rockets team is FOR REAL. at first i was excited, but a bit skeptical about how we would adjust to the new offense. After just two games i can already see the potential of this team and i am very happy about it. we can do some serious damage this year
I was impressed how instead of calling a time out when the Jazz were making a comeback late in the fourth, he let the team play through it. Figuring out the adversity together as a team, makes for a mentally strong team. It will pay dividends in the playoffs.
