Too bad the NBA league pass is non-refundable so you have no choice now. But neways....I was thinking the same thing....The refs were calling too many touch fouls last night. This style would be ok if we were the Suns but were not. We have to be physical to win. Also, was it just me or is Okur a lot like Dirk?....While in the post, he is a panzy that relies on drawing a foul rather than actually making the FG. He also blows in his hand (fist) while at the free throw line like Dirk.
The good news is we are not gonna see threads like "TMac's interview with Dime-A-Dozen Magazine" or "Yao invited to Asian American Society Houston Local Chapter Fund Raising Banquet" for a while.
One thing I noticed that was that there were no smiling on the players's face last night even if at the begining, Steve Nova was even shaking his hand when he was holding the ball.
If a player runs into a set defender, it's a charging foul unless the defender is inside or touching the circle. Then a charging foul can't be called. Also in that situation, a foul doesn't have to be called. Most refs call a blocking foul in that situation instead of the no call that is stipulated in the rule. That has always pi$$ed me off!!
It's pretty rare to get a charging foul, though I noticed Snyder managed to draw one (Ben Wallace is pretty good at it actually). There was one play when Shane battier ran infront of a Jazz player on the fast break and he got knocked down, but I didn't see where his feet were. Besides, referees call charging fouls on anybody who Superstars dunk on (think Shawn Bradely). Oh yeah, if anybody watched R2K's highlight of one of the Rockets-Mav games, there was one situation where Ryan Bowen wasn't even touching Dirk, and hte latter went for a fadeaway jumper and somehow Rybo got the foul.
the shooting was so bad we could have used Prince. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tecKwg-fKYI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tecKwg-fKYI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Dallas Mavericks just lost. Hahhahahahahhaha! Their season is over! Their coach sucks. Dirk is over the hill. They need to trade all their players!
I dont know if thats a good thing....they will be hungry to get their first win. I hope the Rockets aren't surprised with their intensity on Sat night. That quote from TMac irritated me.
I'd swear the Spurs and the Mavs are still having their Western Conference Semi-finals round. Looks quite like it.
i was just mocking all the "the sky is falling" idiots on this board. i don't doubt the Mavs will wipe the floor with us. i must have missed it. what quote?
Yeah, but do you know the flip-side of that? Twenty consecutive threads about how the Rockets' season is over, how Yao is a softy and a stiff, and how T-Mac's career is over. Careful what you wish for...The GARM is damn near unreadable with all these idiotic threads popping up everywhere about how the sky is falling. What people fail to see is that the Jazz played damn near out of their collective minds and dominated the paint, seemingly scoring on every position. On the other hand, we put up one of the worst defensive performances in JVG's tenure, couldn't shoot well at all for the majority of the game -- including FTs -- and STILL had a chance to win the game after making a decent run towards the end. Add to that the fact that the Jazz are actually a good team with a lot of talent, were playing at home and had the crowd and energy on their side, and it really doesn't look all that 'alarming' the night after. On the other hand, it's somewhat entertaining to see the board going nuts after a game; it's good to know some things never change...
Ill post notice that the tracker index ha been updated I wont be posting the actual thread till tomorrow since the full game inst done yet...but i amanged to grab the Rockets Insider vid for this week and the 06 Rox preview show..in addition to the clip vid.
"We were surprised at what type of intensity they were going to bring," McGrady said. "Those guys came out with unbelievable intensity. They beat us in every category. They wanted it more.
The jazz can't get any better than the way they played Wed. night. They played up to their FULL potential and will only have to go down from here. And to think we played probably only up to half of our potential, and we still almost won. Let's not get carried away. We don't want to peak in the beginning of the season.
