JVG likes the Bowen-style hustle. Alright, that's no problem.

But you can't just forget Bonzi's talent!

No he didn't. His job is not to jack up shots. Shooting more than Yao is unexcusable for Rafer. Shooting a dismal 38% is not going to cut it either. Rafer is one of the biggest reasons our offensive efficiency stinks.

This is the 4th most replied thread in GARM history. Soon to be the 3rd. LOL

    What a lousy game.

TMac continues his shooting woes, including his FT. Defensive effort is also poor. Need to coordinate with Yao better on the court.

Yao is still turnover prone and unable to anticipate double team. Lost the ball to Fisher's hustle play/help defense at least 3 times. Fouling injudiciously too early in the game. Still soft on glass. Took too much time deciding what to do with the move when single covered. This is a trend I don't like to see at all.

Foul trouble for Battier is abnormal, but 1 rebound for a forward is just bad. Redeemed himself on offense and hustle play though.

Snyder needs to practice tons of FTs to make himself a more legit threat as a thrasher. Other than that he is fine.

Alston heated up too late. His outside shot is way too inconsistent. Getting beat up by opposing guards repeatedly.

Head is still in the woods.

Padgett played too long. Very tentative on offense, passed too many open shots.

Deke is too old to be any useful on offense. Should've kept Haryasz.

Novak missed a couple of makeable 3s. JVG however lost faith in the kid after those misses.

3-pt shooting by our role players didn't let us down. That's one bright spot.

Dude, you are totally contradicting yourself. Have you ever played basketball? No matter how good or "freak" you are. If you miss that many games, it will take time to get it back. Look at Amare!

So Rafer shoots 5-13...if he makes one more, everybody is happy because he shoots over 50%...the true problem is 8-24...doesnt take a genius to figure that he shot a chicken sh.t 33% from the field.

Message to TMac...We all are aware of how much you love baseball, and a .333 batting average is awesome, but not so as a shooting %.

TMac taking and missing so many shots tells me there may have been a shortage of quality shots available. This would be so as a result of poor offensive flow. Namely, bad ball movement, over clogging the lane with post attempts. The ball is not moving around with the pass. This will open up a few more opportunities for others. But TMac's 8 assists is evidence that he was not hogging, but that maybe he was just off and is still trying to find his shot.

Although it bothers me, I feel ok because its the first game for a team with many new personnel. It will take time for Tmac to get comfy w/ his shot, and the team to know what each can do. JVG will also pound Defense into their thick skulls so they will realize that they will have trouble winning if they dont play some. Jazz scored 105 points, this tells me the Rockets were playing too loose on D. They are not going to beat the Mavs, Suns, or Spurs playing defense like QUEENS. Busting ass on D will open up the Offense and give us a shot to win on off shooting nights like tonight.

Lets just give it some time to let things shake out.

Something is definitely wrong with T-Mac..he played crappy in the pre-season and he played pretty crappy today.

    he's definitely not himself..

    i want the 04-05 T-Mac

Rafer is not a championship calibar pg. If we want to be playing in June, we start working Vspan into the rotation, and eventually force him into the starting spot and force him to adjust. Rafer has the skillset to be a great pg, except he does not have the brain, Vspan seems smarter, naturally. Rafer can't even figure out who's the hot man, and who's not, and what's the highest percentage shot for his team. He was looking/forcing feeds to T-mac time and time again, even though Mac couldn't be more cold.

Its only the first game, man this board is goin crazy. Tmac did wat he had to do, no one could score. Our PGs wouldnt give Yao the ball, and by the time he has set his feet down low, the ball has been reverted to the other side to Tmac, and by dat time the shot clock is down. Tmac does need to work on his FTs though and Rafer had more FGA den Yao? Rockets are going nowhere if Rafer has more FGAs den Yao Our offense wasn't the problem it was our Defense, Jazz shot 52%.

    mark my words
he won't be the athletic freak no more
all he needs to be is the leader, 9 assists is fine, and he needs to take it to the basket more and start sinking free throws

Keep talking, your piss poor karma was invaluable in 2004 and contributed to many classic moments .

Funny that you chose to reappear, had the rockets won I get the feeling it would have been.....POOOOOOOOOOFFFFF!!.......and schwa disappears again.......the NOVEMBER JAZZASSIN disappears into the night.

Your playoff streak continues this year. Enjoy it.

We will win 30ish on talent alone, but dont let us start clicking. The jazzholes played their best game of the season against us tonight we shoot 60% from the line and still almost comeback from 20? Come on Boozer isnt an all-star man put him up against a real PF and those weak ass post moveswill be sent back.

    BTW - if Rafer makes 6-13 that's on 46%.

With all this hype for this season, i expect this thread to have a lot of posts and this board to go crazy. First of all its the first game. So people want to see what we are. I just hope all other losses won't turn into havoc.

That is going to be a common problem this season if we play Battier at the 4.
That is why I have been objecting that trade. He is a player that will provide hustle but nothing else. For you guys that were expecting offense from him, will be waiting all season for that to happen.

A jump shooting Tracy is better than Grant Hill.
However, Tracy does have to face the fact that he is no longer Tmac any more and seriously think about make some adjustment.
