I don't know why I even come to this ****ing place after a loss. All I see is "Rudy Gay is a star", "Yao is back to two years ago", and "T-mac is done." It's ridiculous. Give the Jazz credit, they are going to be good this year. T-mac will find his groove, and Battier was a big reason this game was even competitive. We'll be alright once we get some balance and chemistry going.
Shut up. Damn Jazzholes never missed a shot. Freakin' 68% from the field? Can't do too much against that... not even fouling their asses... Q: Rafer Alston, Yao Ming, Tracy, Kirk, Shane Battier, Steve Nowak... what do they have in common??? A: No "D"
Also, T-Mac is probably not in excellent basketball shape yet. His jumpers were short and have been short for most of the pre-season as well.
We had that pretty good run at that end to cut the lead to 5. Then everything fell apart again. Dam Kirk Snyder was pretty good. He has more years on his contract, he's a keeper. Dang, wish T-Mac would have drove to the basket more. And he needs to work on his free throws. Dang. Rafer needs to stop being trigger happy with that crappy jumper of his. I keep wondering....what if it was Juwan Howard guarding Boozer? At least he would have shot the ball better than Alston. Hate to admit it, but I miss Howard.
Rockets Defense made me sick. Boozerr going for a near 20/20 ain't supposed to happen. T-mac's shooting was crap, but he will eventually knock down those shots, damn layups killed us, T-mac had a chance to dunk on AK47 and D-fish and at last second decided to avoid contact and shoot stupid finger roll. Early foul trouble sucked, and what the hell is Deke doing. He looked about 77 yrs old, missing a point blank layup and getting rejected by the rim. 1st game of the season for a team that is still new to each other but I saw flashes in the 4th that showed life, Battier hustled and we almost came back to steal a win. Other then that tighten up the D and make some free throws. I think we also took Utah for granted, they got some shooters there. Clutch City III baby, don't ever give up.
piss poor free throw shooting (23-36), defense, shot selection and offensive execution, and some help by the refs. thats the story of the game but i'm not gonna worry after seeing the defending nba champs lose by 42, its just the start of the season and bonzi didnt even play.
I think Bozi's groin is getting better real quick or some other coach will be giving him playing time. JVG can't afford to let this team get off to another bad start. T-mac has to stop jacking up all the jumpers. He has to be willing to mix in some drives to the goal if he's going to lead the Rockets any where. This team's defense has the same issues it had last year: they still don't have the foot speed to guard the perimeter. Why not mix in a zone I mean JVG needs to be more flexible. The zone they played in the preseason looked good.
Boozer hit most of his jays when Padgett and others were guarding him. Anyways, when Yao was guarding him, what would Yao be able to do if he guarded him tightly? He would've taken it to the rack and Yao would've fouled out in 5 minutes.
It's just one game, no one can go perfect. Yao would have gotten more shoots if he wasnt in foul trouble. The refs were callin fouls left and right, rockets should have drived to the basket and maybe gotten some foul calls. Well like that matters, no one could hit der free throws. They should have worked from the inside out, but dey took too many jump shots. Its only one lost, no biggie.
people, calm down a little. Utah always played us tough. I thought the biggest problem tonite was our defense. Our offense was ok. We did put up close to 100 points. Utah just shot the lights out and wanted more. Our 3 point shooting was off tonight too.
I was just about the post some thing like this but I was like no1 lisens anyways. Might as well ignore the knuckle heads and read the posts that matter.
Yao could have taken ONE step closer and contested the open shots....close down on your man. His defense on mobile men is not really any good. We still need a PF, and a PG that can shoot but more importantly CREATE. DD
a few thoughts from tonight: 1. we missed way to many free throws......easily could be in the game with that 2. The jazz shot unbelieveable guys.....we played pretty good D with exception of crashin some boards...it just seems in the second half no one would miss a jumper on the jazzz.....they made some tuff jumpers from williams, to brewer, to boozer, to okur, to fisher......so i'm not mad at the D......they were not gettin easy layups....they were lights out shootin the rock.........so what can you do....however reboundin was horrendous and #3 and the most important is......... ROCKETS SHOOTERS MUST HIT SHOTS FOR US TO PROCEED AT ALL.....IF THEY ARE OFF LIKE TONIGHT IT WILL BE A LONG SEASON yao and t-mac got theres but if they have no perimeter help for a whole half we will lose on any given night....real talk.....the rest of the club dissapeared in this game leaving it to yao and tracy to force it all night cuz no one would hit a frickin shot..........NOT GOOD IF OUR STARTERS AND BENCH TAKE A WHOLE 3 QUARTERS OFF...............they can not come alive in the 4th quarter with 6 minutes left..............seems like rafer and battier finally decided to show they face but it was way to late at that point..............gotta do better starters and bench
What's wrong with the offense? With as many missed open Js and missed FTs, the team scored 100 pts. The D, on the other hand, gave up too many points... but the Jazz hit their Js, even the tough fadeaways from Boozer. It's hard to stop a team when they are hitting their Js. And for all the complaining about rebounding, they were about even on the offensive boards. Utah just got more defensive boards because Rockets missed more field goals. Simple math.
I dont what it is, he still has'nt adjusted to the NBA officiating or the refs havent adjusted to his game. i really dont know, but for me, it's becoming an alarimng issue. those fouls are seriousely hurt our chances of a championship in no time.
Arg what a terrible game. Guys like Miles should not be able to rain 3s on us. We need to step up our defense, and JVG needs to stop benching guys so quickly. We needed battier to play more.
