the refs are never consistent or good imo... (anticipating fouls, star treatment, missed calls..... etc.)

I'll drink to that. The only way we'll be able to win in spite of poor officiating is if we get a superstar. I love the assets, but I'd rather be winning...

I'll keep saying it. The only reason I watch bball is because I love this city. The Stern clones have a gameplan on how to officiate for these Dbags, sorry, "stars".
If every player on defense got to grab jersey, hand check and apparently Crotch check, like cp3, our defense wouldn't be that bad. You basically have to blow a team out to negate the Refs otherwise they will get involved. Rockets had their chances early and it was embarrassing when Landry out jumped three rockets for a crucial rebound.
Eh, it's the Nba, asking for the calls to be even is bad business.

if favorable calls mess with a players morale then they are mentally soft. if that's the case we need to bring in some players with grit and a hard-nosed mentalty.

I've said since day 1 the rockets main priority should be defense and being able to adjust to a half court game.

the rockets are who they are. a finesse face paced run and gun team and the hornets defended us well, ran back in transition, and forced us to operate in the half-court where we are least effective. our offense struggles when they take the fast break and that's what happened down the stretch.

Some in this game (NBA) are just here to get paid and treat the game like a pick up game at the park or less. The integrity of the game was in the hamper long ago when Stern became well today's "Stern".

Hey, we could be Warriors fans -- they've missed the playoffs 16 out of the last 17 years.

it is what it is. it's a superstar league. sucks i know. but that's life.

that's why i never believed this team was "just a decent center" away from being a contender. we need much more than that.

I second that. They missed so many layups tonight. It was infuriating...

you're telling me when you play ball and a terrible call goes against you it doesn't piss you off and sometimes you will do something you will normally never do

WE need dominance. Yao even at tip top shape is not a dominant player. He's damn good, and maybe he could have been dominant, but to say he ever was is a joke. One good center away? Even if I said that it was more to serve as wishful thinking...

The NBA just seems like it's consolidating. NY has two stars, Miami 3, Boston 3.45, and LA has 3 going on 4 if Howard signs with them. Get used to losing, because if this team still exists we will be left in the dust for a while now...

Yao was the best center of the NBA in his last years. If that's not being dominant, no big man can be considered dominant today.

Whether it be because of biased officiating or whatnot, he never got the calls even a bench warmer would get.

Not a surprising loss...we just aren't that good. The Hornets are a bit better than us, that's why they're in the playoffs, even w/o West. It'll be this way until we get another Yao or equivalent. Looks like Rocket fans are going to have to be mighty patient these days.

if i had the mental toughness i would still execute the gameplan and not let that derail me. not everyone is that mentality though.

towards the course of the game if you let certain calls throw you off your game then you lack mental toughness.

NY has two barely-superstars and they still can't get the job done.
