he's sick for 2 days. they're NOT SURE if he's playing or not. they haven't said he will sit out. there's still a chance he's gonna play.

    From this interview with JVG:

    http://www.click2houston.com/video/11362966/index.html

It's long, but he mentions Tracy being sick and not knowing whether he can play or not.

Did you see the photos I posted above?

There was a team shootout practice before the team flew out to New Orleans. The team practice was open to the media, and there was press interview afterwards, whenupon the reporters could interview Nelson Luis, Jeff Van Gundy, Yao Ming and other Rockets. And there are dedicated Chinese reporters from different sports websites and magazines based in Houston doing nothing but cover every news of Yao Ming and the Rockets. And Nelson Luis is the Director of Media Relationship. So they got their quotes directly from him. Is that obvious and plain to you now ?

McGrady sure does get sick often. He better be real sick and not just have a head cold if he is not going to play.

Well, let's take things from the positive perspective.

Even if Tracy McGrady and Deke Mutombo are not feeling well, and may not be playing, it could be a blessing in disguise.

Let them take good rest for a game or so, reserve energy and get healthy again for future games. This team definitely needs them for the playoffs.

Even though Big Yao will surely miss TMAC's playmaking abilities as well as Mutombo's backup and rebounding, yet against a relatively weaker New Orleans Hornets, it is time for him to shoulder the team on his own again, and impose his will to win, proving JVG wrong in saying that he lacks the killer/finishing mentality.

It will be a stern test for Big Yao & Co, which, IMHO, is good for him, and for the Rockets.

First the celtics then the NOK...anybody notice a trend here about TMac and crappy teams? Not saying outright he (might) skip on purpose, but if this was the Jazz games then I get the feeling TMac would be more of a lock to play. And it's the first on a back to back, just saying...

    He's not Steve Francis.

He has made the trip, so it's possible he will still play.

sure hope Bonzi plays if Mac can't go.

this is a HUGE game for us. If we win we are 45 up and 25 down!! 20 games over 500 for the first time in FOREVER.

Here's hoping Rafer doesnt get ejected in the first qtr again.

Rockets will win 88 - 84 with Yao scoring 29 if Mac doesnt play.

if he does make it 99 - 84.

I doubt that Bonzi will play. If he is physically and mentally fit to play he should otherwise it's no use.

Yeah, maybe that'll turned out to a bless in disguise -- Bonzi will be brought back into rotation. I still think we'll need him deep in the playoffs.

hornets are a weaker team? this team wasn't healthy back then. they are now outside of peja but he's basically gonna retire. paul is a beast.

w/o tmac, we're average. we're 2-7 w/o tmac so i don't know how you can say new orleans is weaker than us.

yao is not gonna win this game b/c he's not the guy handling the ball. he'll get his 30. but the role players have to make their shots. if rafer jacks up a bad game, it could get ugly.

even when yao was at his best before the injury, this team didn't play .500 ball.
