He missed a wide open attempt in the 4th when we were down only one. I hate these types of games where the Rockets can get the deficit down to 1 or 2 points and never get over the hump.

The good news is they have a depleted Bucks team at home tomorrow night, so they can bounce back quickly from this loss.

I agree that it is not a time to panic on such a sour loss. First Yao is dominated by Kurt Thoms and now Chandler. Hopefully he will be back to 100% in a couple of weeks for home-court sake. Yao was out of position for nearly every board. Tough loss but coming out and whooping the Bucks is the perfect medicine. Everybody on here want to claim the season on every single loss. Calm down: we have a ways to go.

Tonight's game is one of Yao's worst games in the season. It can been seen from the following propectives:

    1) Lack of agressiveness: no offensive rebound, just stood around and did not fight for the borads. Because of his lack of agressiveness, he didn't go to the free throw lines very often and he didn't earn the refs respect.

    2) Lack of adjustment: when jumpers not falling, should've changed his plays, battled for closer position in the basket and gotten some easy hooks or dunks, should've created more contacts and fouls and shot more free throws, which should get his rhythm back

Yaohaters, take it easy on him today. I'm sure Yao will learn his lesson tonight.

This is what JVG is talking about, too many mental mistakes, this team has no edge.....they cave under pressure.

If they don't toughen up mentally and hit BIG shots, they will be gone in the first round.

And the fact that ANY decent PG in the league kills Rafer really hurts the Rockets because all the good PGs are going to be in the playoffs.

And Yao had a MASSIVE size advantage, he should have been getting deeper position and cramming the ball and Tyson Chandler through the basket...he settled far too often tonight.

Tmac- played well and passed at the right time, but his teamates hurt him big time tonight....no one stepped up and made WIDE open shots.

Tough loss to a team that the Rockets should CRUSH...every time they play them.

I can't believe that all these loses to sub .500 teams are probably going to cost the Rockets home court advantage....if that is not a lesson in toughness, I don't know what is....

Very dissappointing tonight.....the team got rattled.....and they should have crushed New Orleans....they were ready to give up in the 3rd quarter....ugh.

agreed he has made strides of progress with the length of time he was out. The big man will be back to form soon.

What I cannot understand is that the Rockets were chopping these guys up in the 1st quarter. They were up by TEN (10) POINTS.

Then... they implode... you can feel the intensity level drop 2 notches. It was like the overconfidence being there... (yeah, we have won 5 games, yeah, we kicked some big asses, and yeah, we just owned you in the 1st quarter) so they thought they could sit back and relax...

In doing so, they allowed NOH's hands to get hotter and hotter and hotter and hotter... until they torched us into the ground.

It is not only Yao Ming who needs to be aggressive... I think the entire team needs to learn how to drive the stake ALL THE WAY in once and for all in all FOUR quarters.

And never ever ever freaking underestimate ANY opponent.

am i the only one who thinks the rebounding is one or the biggest weakness we have, we dont have an athletic center or power forward who can react quick to the ball when yao is out...

I know Yao is still trying to get into shape, but he's not having that same aggresive mentality he had before he went out or it doesn't seem that way. I feel bad for the guy cause Tyson was fouling and bumping into him everytime he touched the ball.

T-Mac looked angry and should be angry. We need to hit our shots when it counts. In games like this, the other teams aren't beating us. we are beating ourselves.

Hope we DESTORY the bucks tomorrow night.

I think inconsistency in rebounding is one of our biggest weaknesses. I would not say we are a poor rebounding team though. Even with our weak presence on the boards, it was still a game we had in our grasp. I would say the game came down to heart and shooting: both of which we did not accomplish.

I think he isn't being as aggressive b/c he doesn't have his legs back. Kind of like a boxer before he goes down. I hope i'm right and that he is close to getting there, but I suppose we will have to just wait and see. T-mac was angry and rightfully so. His team let him down when he was obviously giving it all he had when his health was at less than 100%.

Instead blaming Yao.. we should give credit to Chandler and Ref... Chandler played great defense all night, and regs made sure of it

yea tmac was really pissed at his teammates. he left right before the buzzer kinda sounded and to the locker room.

could this spark tmac to play harder consistently and revving up for the playoffs?

"Was there" how? How many games did Yao struggle offensively and still compensate by defending better, rebounding more and dishing more assists?

I know you're a stats guy so I would be interested in your input, because my memory is somewhat shaky regarding Yao's pre-injury numbers, it has been a while.

I sure do hope so. Blaming the refs on Yao's performance is a cop-out. Great players adjust to the flow of the game. Yao is, but he wasn't tonight. Chandler did an amazing job slowing the beast and making Yao play his game. Yao took some horrible shots and was looking for the call a little too much, and I feel that hurt him as well.
