We're a better shooting team and a better defending team than New Orleans. Much of there offense has come from the 3-PT line - you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Must be nice to have played most of your games against crap teams: Atlanta (2x), Boston (2x), Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, New York, Orlando (3x). 15 of their 18 games against the crappy Eastern Conferene.

Of the 8 teams we've played in common, the Rockets have beaten 6 and New Orleans 5.

    Still, it will be close.

    Rockets: 90
    Hornets: 89

    Have you guys seen this:

"ouston Rockets - The trouble with Houston is well-known, and it doesn't start with the fourth letter of the alphabet. If their cross-state rivals can jokingly be called the Allas Mavericks, then our heros may soon find themselves referred to as the Hustn Rckets. What happened to the offense, and how to fix it? Van Gundy seems to have tried every option, and makes it sound like there's no choice left. But there is at least one option he's neglected - the triangle offense. Would it work in Houston? --- Philip Maymin (Hoopsland)"

Rockets will win! If Steve is "Smarter", If he goes and attack the Basket with over 5 sec. to go and not shooting behind the arc. If he got by his man and not pulling back on the dribble. If he pass the ball more than dribbles it. If he knows how to defend, every point guard he faces score lots of point, If he makes decisions like Magic Johnson. What's up Steve? 4yrs. NBA experience and still look like a rookie.

    i dunno.

the rox seem to do well with teams that have a player that's both capable of running an offense AND putting up huge numbers. the rox seem to force the ball out of that one person's hands and make everybody else do the work (like they did with the suns, magic, 76ers, etc.) with j-mash and the other guy out of this one (can't remember his name right now), this is a very winnable game.

Mo Taylor steps up in this one. Pike starts bombing 3 pointers...And Yao will get a 20 pt 10 rebound night.

This will show how bad the Rockets offense really is. If they use that Yao top-O-da-key pick we're sunk...

Baron Davis will probably have another 2 or 3 top 10's. Steve will try to out play him tom the detriment of team ball.

I saw an interesting stat from the Utah game...

The Rockets had a season-high point total, and Mobley had the highest-scoring game by any Houston player this season. Houston is 5-1 when he leads the team in scoring

Not sure if there is anything to that other than coincedence.

Mobes & Ming both go for 20+ again and the Rox win a close one on the road.

Maybe Mobley scores because the other teams concentrate too much on stopping Steve and Yao.

Now they have to watch MoT as well!

We can pull off a win if we come out ready to play tonight. Baron Davis will get his but as long as we can keep everyone else down then we should be ok. Lets just hope our offense shows up tonight. Rockets!

Everyone predicts we lose. So, I predict we win a tough road game. Yao dominates, JJ and Pike shoots lights out.

hey, I have been thinking about this as well. The triangle offense makes the PG not as important, thus alleviating the weakness of SF as a PG. I think it will work very well. The triangle offense emphasizes passing.
