I think this should be noted. If Peja shoots like he did tonight. The Hornets are going to be a contender this season. Again, we lost to a really good team on the road in the second game of a back to back. It's no reason to panic. That being said, we didn't play very well either. We have chemistry issues right now. Nothing that we can't solve.

Only one team could take TMAC. It is Knicks. TMAC for Francis+filler would be a good trade for Rox.

this game shows that there is nothing new. when T-Mac and Yao both have lousy games, the Rockets are going to lose. only this time, the Rockets actually had a chance inspite of those two, but the rest of the team just couldn't beat Grundy as well as the Hornets.

I guess you fools don't read full threads. I said that I'd take Odom & Turiaf for Tmac like yesterday. TMac should be GMac - Grant McGrady. I think his Magic days are getting to him.

The Rockets played terrible and still had a chance to win both games. JVG has left in Yao, which led to crazy foul trouble in the first quarter. He needs to get him out of there.

Brokeback was totally OWNED by one of the most one-dimensional players on this league - Peja.

World stage greatness does not = NBA greatness. If that were true Carlos Arroyo would be a basketball god.

I'm trying to hold my thoughts on TMAC for another couple of weeks to see if he gets back into it. However, what I see from him is not promising. He is not agressive and his demeanor on the court seems like he doesn't really care. I don't see the fire from him that he promised going into this season.

However, the bright spot is that even without TMAC we had a chance to win this game. Our foul shooting must improve. I also agree with the poster before me that, on back to back nights, JVG must use additional players in the rotation to help the tired legs.

Shane had a n ice game but missed his last 3 WIDE OPEN 3's. I mean they were totally wide open. He has to hit those. I still don't like the inconsisten play we are getting from Rafer. He is good when he shoots the wide open 3 but sometimes he just jacks it up with like 10 seconds left on the shot clock.

Tmac is still not showing any signs of wanting to drive the ball. Eveyone on this site knows. Is JVG not hammering this point home with TMAC? He keeps jacking up shots with guys in his face. I don't know what is up with him but im concerned like the rest of you.

bonzi looks out of sync out there. He needs to use his size more to post up like he did ONCE (only) in this game. Oh and can we go one game without Rafer or Chuck hayes missing a layup?

I'm not quite sure what happened to the Rockets team that was supposed to be one of the best defenders in the league from last year. They sure didn't show up tonight, and especially not against the j*zz. But the j*zz is understandable, that was their first game.. might have been from the first game jitters.

JVG's player rotation is questionable, but I'm sure it will work out in the long run.

I also noticed that Scott was in the inactive list. I would love to see JHo inactivated and Padgette in a uniform. JVG should at least try ONCE of a 3 pt shooting lineup on the floor.

It would be nice to see Novak, Padgette, Shane, Head or Snyder, and Alston out together. That would probably be one of the worst defensive lineup in the league, but it's not like we've been turning heads with our defense as of late..

This is of course, just for no more than 3-5 mins when Yao and TMac are resting.

    Exactly!

It's going to take a little time for this team to find that consistency and chemistry. I think it bolds well for this team that they were in it at the end without playing nowhere near their best ball and one of their two all-stars having an off-night.

Seriously, Yao is THE BEST scoring big man in the game today. Hands down. 17 points, 10 rebs. in roughly a half of basketball. He is going to put up MVP-calibur numbers this year.

But its kinda obvious that Rafer isnt doing his job on defense. I think 12 assists for Deron and Paul with 16 dimes. We should be afraid anytime were playing a team with a good, pass first PG.

By the way, I blame Yao also for not B1tchSlapping TMac for getting broken down by his man. It's his responsibility to put some fire in Brokeback. Also, stop with these damn ticky tack fouls. The Rox would be undefeated if Yao has been on the court for an extra 5-10 minutes. But again, if Brokeback hasn't been broken down by his guy, then Yao wouldn't be in foul trouble.

Is it Blazing_Ben or Broke_Ben? I only call it as I see it buddy. It wouldn't hurt so much if it wasn't true, but face it, Brokeback is more concerned with his Addidas commercials than work on his free throws or defense.
