Are you sure about that? At this point he still has Russ and Hardens attention. That's what still gives this season a chance. Just like last year man. I get most people here are ready to hit the panic button, but overreacting hardly is going to achieve anything this season. I rather keep salvaging because Harden and Russ aren't getting any younger.
Both those coaches were trash. Regardless of DAntonis shortcomings on the defensive end and making adjustments, he has done a fantastic job with us.
Jaren is out but Clarke (the guy we would've got in the trade with Boston) is going to be a great player so, expect him to have his career high tommorrow
"We're just not ourselves right now, but we'll get there, nobody will won't to face us in the playoffs"
I disagree that we have no plan. Threes, layups and free throws is our offense. If we aren't hitting threes, we are going to have a hard time generating layups. The offense has continued to generate open looks, the problem is that we aren't hitting. As much as it is painful to watch us offensively, offense isn't our problem. Defense is our major issue. Our communication is poor and our execution is poor. I am not even sure if it is always an effort issue.
The Rockets need to make a major move to get a 3&D power forward with length right now. That means using their small trade exceptions to absorb a useful piece or trading Clint Capela for that player and a lesser rim-running center. Once Dec. 15 arrives, they have enough small salaries to acquire a free agent to be on a rebuilding team, like Jae Crowder.
I don’t know enough about basketball or the front office to agree or disagree w Morey not wanting Westbrook. This post really strikes a chord with me, though, because I feel we’re seeing a bad mix of oncourt and offcourt issues.
I didn’t say we had no plan offensively, I’m saying that we have no variety to the plan...we’ll just stick to what we’re doing no matter what Currently 6-30 as a team from deep on standstill, spot up bricks and off the dribble bricks from Harden? No matter. Take 20 more of those so we can get to our 50 attempts as a team and finish 12-50. That’s how u end a 1st quarter going 2-16 from deep or Harden can be out here shooting 2-18 from 3 in a game. The defense is a huge joke. I’m not sure the coaching staff will be able to fix it this time.
You are probably right as Brandon Clarke is a really talented rookie and was the MVP of the Summer League. However, he’s only 6’8. That’s a much more manageable matchup for Tucker than 6’11 Jackson.
D’Antoni, if your team doesn’t start playing better defense, you are definitely in trouble. Giving up 127 points per game is not going to get you where you want to go.
Maybe it is time to pull a Boston. Trade Harden, Westbrook, Gordon, and Capela for crappie players, and draft picks. Astros is terrible for years. A World Series followed. This Rockets team won't win a trophy.
What annoys me the most is they are acknowledging their horrible defense but not doing anything to it......
It's funny that as @DVauthrin pointed out the adjustment was to start Gordon with Butler out there lol. MDA has no idea what to do on defense. Which is why he watched Brook Lopez win the Bucks a game from him. An adjustment they should try is playing Tucker at 3 and who knows what they do about PF, play Ryno? I don't know. But I think playing Tucker at 3 would make us bigger, it's just a shame we do not have any NBA PFs on this team, I guess Hartenstein isn't ready...and may never be ready I guess.
